Indy's Libation of Choice...

What kinds of drinks do you think Indy prefers most, either in your own opinion or what you have read in the series? What would Indy have after a day of teaching? After a day of adventuring?

Pale Horse 01-31-2008 03:44 PM

That's easy...he asks for it by name.

At the Raven, of course.

(P.S. the poll should be amended, schnapps is common, mixed drinks should be considerd hard stuff) :p

Indyologist 01-31-2008 03:48 PM

Vote Pasty Pony, or no carrot for you! :p I don't know how to go back and change the poll. I'll give it a try. I'm a booze virgin so I'm a little confused.

Nope. I tried. Couldn't change it. Well, explain your answers in a reply then, people. Sorry if I messed this up.

Pale Horse 01-31-2008 03:59 PM

I voted hard liquor, because it seems when he has a choice in Cairo or on the Zep, he goes with Whiskey and what appears to be scotch on the zeppelin. And in the Raven bar fight, he asks Marion for the Whiskey to hit the guy, weater its just what he sees available or it comes to mind bcuz its his drink is anyones call.

deckard24 01-31-2008 04:19 PM

How about a milkshake?

Seriously though he seems like a scotch kinda guy.

herr gruber 01-31-2008 06:03 PM

Champers. Remember he was going with Marcus to "Discuss my honorarium over dinner and champagne".

Ah yes, I forgot, "Your Treat."

drjones 02-01-2008 09:58 AM

There's also this from LC, although it was deleted from the movie:

or how about this one from Raiders:

oki9Sedo 02-01-2008 10:03 AM

I'd say brandy or scotch would be his drinks of choice.

I'd imagine he only drinks wine at Club Obi-Wan because its more appropriate, and the same goes for drinking champagne at Donovan's champagne party.

drjones 02-01-2008 10:07 AM

The guy even had to drink an antidote to poison, not that I would drink antidotes in my spare time:

I gotta go with whiskey too... we see him choose to drink it in Cairo... and I recall him drinking whiskey in the Indy novel series as well.... we've never seen him drink scotch have we ?? and as for mixed drinks.. those are for girls... Marion may drink them... but no self respecting man drinks mixed drinks..

jtobin13 02-01-2008 12:29 PM

shots in raiders

whats marion and the local drinking in contest please???

thanks john

I don't know, but I'm not sure that Indy's all that self-respecting some of the time...there's plenty of self-loathing to go around.

sarah navarro 02-01-2008 11:08 PM

i went with good stuff even though ive never drinken alchohol.

Niteshade007 02-02-2008 02:14 AM

I voted common stuff, but that's because I think Indy will really just drink anything that's put before him. If he's at a banquet for school he's not going to ask for tequila, he'll have what everybody else is having.

Interesting thread though. I never would have thought about this.

Yeah, I voted hard stuff, since we had some evidence of whiskey, but we also had just as much evidence of champagne. The key point is that Indy's adaptable. He'll either drink what he's given, or he'll drink what's appropriate to the situation.

Canyon 02-02-2008 07:40 AM

OOh, thats a difficult one.

Difficult because from what I've sen Indy would most proably drink all of those at some stage.

beer, shots, mixed drinks - I'm pretty sure that in the Interior World novel, Indy really fancied a beer

Fancy stuff-- Wine, champangne -- Indy is seen drinking champagne in Raiders at his house and in Last Crusade at Donovan's place

Hard stuff-- Rum, whiskey, schnapps - I think Indy pours himself a whisky at Marion's bar...

Good stuff-- Scotch, cognac, brandy - ...but they again, that could be Scotch

Also, Indy once drank my favourite, Pernod at a bar with Jack Shannon when he was working in Paris :hat:

Andy Jones 02-02-2008 09:40 AM

Good stuff-- Scotch, cognac, brandy

What does Indy drink?

Okay, this may have been asked before, but I can't find it.

What does Indiana Jones drink? We all know he is a driking man, so what is it? Scotch...........whiskey........red wine?

Thats how he's so fit and healthy at the ripe old age of 65!

rhino 02-27-2008 11:23 AM

Thank you, it was just a question that had popped into my mind today.
