It would be great if Ford voiced Indy for a cartoon show. |

You took the time to view my profile? That's creepy, man! Glad you liked my prose. I aim to please. Please do show it around. No publicity is bad publicity. And yes, I am adult enough to not care if I look silly! Infact, I love it! But then, you know that after stalking my profile... Am I really that important to you, Forrestal? Is this a case of hero worship? I am flattered, too. Let's get married. |
Quote:
It's fortunate that you don't care if you look silly... as you frequently do! And perhaps you should look up the words hero and worship. I think you have become confused. As for the proposal... well, I'm flattered. And I can see the attraction, for you. But I think the Herr in the Gruber would pose a significant issue and neccessitate a life-style change on my part that I just not willing to make. Thanks though. No, really (he says slowly backing his way out the door). Ok, seriously though Grubie baby, this is where ole Forrestal cashes in. Sleep beckons and it's another day closer to the great man's return. However, should there be any doubt that I am retiring from the field of battle (debate/ childish jibe throwing by me/inane poetry-scary proposals from you)for any reason other than the need to catch 40 winks, I will return. Just like James Bond actually. :D |
Quote:
Too late, Forrestal. I was asleep twenty minutes ago. Ha! I win. Inevitably, of course. |
Quote:
Ok, ok, you win. Happy? Now take your nitol and go to sleep. If you can't sleep you can always try counting little Shia's . Forrestal - cashing in! |
Quote:
I'm not reading this, Forrestal. I've been asleep for about thirty minutes now. (I must have the last word):hat: |
Quote:
Whoops! |
Quote:
Thanks Forrestal, my good friend. |
What was all that?
Well, maybe it's time to go back to topic, and say that if Indy 4 ends up being really good, a 5th movie would be delicious ;) |
Quote:
I don't know, but I wish it would continue so maybe herr gruber would make up another snarky little rhyme. Quote:
I'd like another movie, although lately I've been getting the feeling that there might be too much closure at the end of KotCS, what with Indy's promotion and the resolution of other elements. (i.e. Mutt, Marion, Aliens, etc.) Well, we can but wait and see. |
I agree Kingsley. 5 follows 4 in most equations, so there should be Indy 5 in a few years. The whole world will trample to see it and it will be great, as KotCS will be. I have mentioned elsewhere that I am a positivist.
|
Quote:
hmmm....Shia replacing indy? possible, but that'll be only IF HE'S TRULY INDY'S KID! |
Quote:
Please, enlighten me on the definition of snarky If it's a negative definition, I take it you are siding with the jumped up punk with a bad attitude. |
Quote:
And so begins Round 2. You ready for another woping? I am rather busy this evening but could spare 5 mins for Professor Grubenstein. I may have to drop a few points on my I.Q. to do so but I'm sure Mensa won't mind me temporarily leaving their ranks. But this continuing diversion, while a mildly amusing distraction for me, runs the risk up upsetting others who (rightly) wish to discuss Indy 5. P.S. "Snarky", I define it thus: adjective (pronounced :snar-key) meaning touchy, short tempered, irritable. Sound familiar? But you're a writer, surely you know this? |

Quote:
Seconds out! Round Two! Gruber delivers a sharp and cutting verbal riposte, catching Forrestal offguard. Forrestal tumbles to the floor, blood and verbal diarrhoea trickling. With flailing arms and a numbed mind, Forrestal passes out. Gruber leaves the ring to find something more interesting to do - like take a sh*t. |

Perhaps they already have a solid base for an Indy V. Given the notorious stop-start history of The Crystal Skull, they'd be pretty naive to spout about another one if it's going to run into the same trouble.
|
I doubt Mutt will get his own series, Shia seems like to much of a fan to do it.
|
Quote:
Does anybody remember the interview he did, oh, back in March or April last year, in which he said the idea of Indy having a daughter was more appealing to him? This was after the Natalie Portman rumour died on its arse. |
Who? Shia?
|
Quote:
Yep. This was awhile before he was officially onboard. |
My only regret is that they never made any Indy films in the 90s. Last Crusade is set in the 30s and Crystal Skull is set in the 50s. Imagine all of the adventures Indy could have done in the 1940s. This is why I want an animated series, please do it Lucas.
|
Actually, a 5th movie or any old how would suffice. Just bring Indy on for as long as possible. I've just ordered all the YIJ stuff so I will be keen to see that. I saw the latest trailer last night on the big screen and it looks like a totally big action flick, judging by the trailer but I'm hoping for a good story. Bring it on!

Fifth movie should star a 66 year old Harrison Ford playing a 70 year old Mutt, which would set it round about 2007
|
Quote:
Perfect! That way we could have LaBeouf play a younger Mutt circa 1960's with no need for Ford to dye his hair. These babies write themselves. |
Quote:
If we gonna discuss bond so is Daniel Craig best! He kills without mercy and is more like a real SPY, a bornkiller :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun: . A bad news for you and good for me, Daniel Craig will be Bond at least four movies after Casino Royale. The next one is Quantum of Solace! Now to Topic! |
Quote:
It is never Indiana Jones with out Harrison Ford!!!!! |
I can just see him now whizzing round on a Harley'esque Invalid chair. In leather. It'd be like Buba'hotep!!
|
Quote:
Casino Royal is the worst Bond movie ever, and so IS Craig, he is a good actor, but he isn't bond, the look, the way he played bond ... The look ;). For me there are only 3 Bonds: 1- Sean Connery 2- Pierce Brosnan And at last 3- Roger Moore. I'll probably watch the next Craig Bonds, but defiantly not in the Theatre. I will wait until it comes out for rent on DVD or BR or I will wait until they come out on TV back to topic: I really hope there will be no more Indy movies with or withou HF and no Mutt spin of either |
I've already got what I wanted! No way am I getting my hopes built up for a fifth movie.
As a movie buff and Indiana Jones fan, Indy 4 has been the ultimate Maguffin. Not sure if anything will ever surpass it, think I've had my lot. |
An Indy movie set during WWII could have been a cracker, all right. I like to think Indy played an important role in it.
|
"Dr.Jones" the movie
A now retired indiana jones is exploring the world peacefully with his spare time. The well dressed Dr. Jones flashes his love for suits in this movie, and only in the end does he actually wear the Indiana Jones attire. A thriller movie with the big action sequence at the end. Of coure Dr. Jones will punch a few teeth over the course of the movie, but this is how I would like to see it done.

Quote:
Quickly off topic... Connery - suave and cool. Lazenby - Underated. Moore - A buffoon. Dalton - Wooden. Brosnan - SMUG! Craig - Perfect. The original choice for Bond was Patrick MacGoohan and Craig bears a strange resemblance. And at least this new series has an arc! Back on... I think if a fifth movie was going to happen we will find out before the end of this year once they see how the audience reacts to Indy 4. It'd have to be put in motion quickly. |
Here's a thought: why not take a plot from another Harrison movie and rehash that for an Indy 5? For example...Frantic:
While on a lecturing trip to Paris, Marion is kidnapped by shady Gallic terrorists in return for a mysterious MacGuffin hidden within Indy's Lady Liberty statue. A breakneck adventure ensues as Indy must brave strip clubs, cocaine dealers and pepper-spray, while befriending a comely French prostitute (Shia LaBeouf). The movie's central set-piece sees a naked Indy fending off sleazy perverts while covering his 'bits' with a teddy-bear. |
Quote:
Do you know how long it took for me as a precocious child to destroy the image of my hero's bare butt from mind. Thanks for dredging up a wealth of memory.... |
Quote:
What?! Semi-nude Harrison Ford is like, the *only* reason to ever watch Frantic. ;) |
Quote:
But in my formative years? I coulda gone either way at that point and my Mom's boyfriend already questioned my sexuality over a TOD poster I had with Harrison bearing his chest through his torn shirt. |

Just in case you try to forget again... Note The Ford Finger. What a pro... |
AAAArgh! You're all demons!
Lol, thank heavens it's only the Ford finger he's pointing. |
Quote:
One of the new books (either the DK guide or the lost journal, I can't remember) places Indy fighting in Germany at the time that the Nazi HQ fell. I'd like to think Indy was a big reason behind that. ;) |
Quote:
The first KotCS trailer sort of suggested that Indy single handedly defeated Hitler in 1938. :| |
Quote:
Lest not forget that a fictional character being responsible takes away from the real heroes that overthrew Hitler. Not a dig just an observation. |

You said it! See the teddy's right arm? Well, when I first looked at that pic...:o |
