Should be done by the weekend. If you're interested in the recipe, grab yourself a 'Singapore Disguise' Elizabeth Swan from the Pirates of the Caribbean line. Incidentally, I was looking elsewhere on this thread and if you want a ponytail for your Nepal Marion customs, the leftover head from the Elizabeth figure has one that'll be perfect.

With regard's to the PotC Cannibal Chief - I think with a bit of work it'd be a great base for a German Mechanic - and I already used the lower legs off mine for Jock :)

Not an Indy custom, but certainly an Indy contemporary made from Indy parts...Humphrey Bogart in The Big Sleep...



Hat, arms - Indy. Head - Dovchenko. Legs - Belloq. Coat - Ultimate Soldier 82nd Airborne Driver. The torso is isn't from LC Indy, but is actually a modded Temple Pitfall Indy torso. I was stuck as to what to with all the bodies from Pitfall Indy after I'd used the heads to update my other figs. Solution - create a quick push-mould from LC Indy, shave the fronts off the Pitfall Indy torso's, cover with epoxy putty, push into the mold - instant shirt/ties ! The Pitfall Indy torso is exactly the same as the LC torso anyway - just minus the tie. Most fun I've ever had recycling :)

Oh, and here's "Washington DC Marion" in her current state - lacking her hat and clutch purse. Before you say anything about the gloves and long hair, she's based on her appearance in the Ultimate Guide rather than on screen...



The upper arms, torso, legs and jacket bottom are from "Singapore Disguise" Elizabeth Swan (torso modded with collar, pocket flaps and buttons). Forearms and hands are from Mara Jade. Skirt is from Mace Windu. Head is the standard Marion with some corrected paint apps.

Inky, that Bogie is awesome! Humphrey Bogart is one of my all time favorites...what is the recipe? Is that a Col Dovchenko head? It's perfect.

Thanks guys - I've added the full recipe to my original post - and yes, that is a Dovchenko head. Weird, I just thought "Bogart" the minute I saw it. I've tossed in Marion as well ;)

Thinking about it, The Maltese Falcon really is the perfect Indy Macguffin isn't it ? Sam Spade it is then - although to be true to the novel he'd have to be a blonde ;)

glorbes - don't suppose you picked up one of those 1:18th scale Betty Page figs when they were released ? I'd like one to go with another of my upcoming customs - wondered how they compared in quality to Indy / Star Wars figs ?

I can easily imagine a cross-over in which Indy pursues the real deal, finding his way to Frisco to consult with Spade. My nerd-sense is tingling with the very idea. And, as always, its a pleasure to find another Hammett fan


They were indeed 7" figs...I used the head from one on a Rocketeer Betty custom, and it was a tad large...I had to be creative to make it work on a 1/12 scale body. It seems to me that if you could carefully add bangs to a Marion figure, it may work out for a 1/18 scale Betty, though. Give her green eyes and red lips, and it may create the illusion of a likeness.

Are any of the 25th anniversary GI Joe figures appropriate? I know there's a Lady Jay, but I'm not sure what the face looks like. Most of the Princess Leias are pretty dour looking...what about a Padme/Amidala/Whateverhernameis?


The Rocketeer, Shadow, and Nazi Sky Commando are indeed mine. Those are a few years old, but the Rocketeer still stands as one of my personal favorites.

It's now one of mine too. Awesome work there mate.

Actually, talking of Bogart, I'm sure I heard a rumour that KotCS features a Bogie impersonator dressed as Fred C. Dobbs from Treasure of the Sierra Madre in the Mexican market scenes. Didn't see the supposed cameo on the big screen, and we don't get the DVD until Nov 10, so if anyone can get a screen grab and post it I'd appreciate it !

Dying to see Katanga! (I think he would have been a much better kids' toy choice for the Raiders wave than monkey man, as an all-purpose ally for Indy's further adventures)

These are awesome. The Marion is great- I've got to get my hands on this "ULTIMATE GUIDE". Does it have photos of Tohts goons from the Raven in Raiders? I want to make some accurate custom of these guys, but I can't find good reference.
The Bogie is just too cool. The Dovchenko head is a dead ringer for Bogart! I can't believe I never realized it. The push mold for the tie shirt is ABSOLOUTLY INGENIOUS! The applications for this are limitless! You've just solved so many problems for me you have no idea! Great job!

So...I finally got the vintage Toht overcoat to finish off my "Melty" custom. For those of you who enquired about an alternate head, I completed that too.



I really need to buckle down and finalise tooling / production for the mine cart kit, so you'll be seeing a little less of me after I crank out the finished DC Marion / Katanga figs next week.
