Believe it's a custom head cast from a Sideshow "Smuggler Han" figure and lightly modded to adapt the hairstyle. It was doing the rounds on Sideshow Freaks forum a while back (http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/fo...d.php?t=45311). Sorry I can't be more informative...Raven users mfisher or hemble may be able to shed more light on it - I know they contribute over at Sideshow.

Mate have you got a close up shot at all, but looking at this pic it looks like kaiburr HS but without a close up I can't be sure.

I found this one as well:

Deckard 07-30-2010 12:54 AM

Its the German Disguise figure head from Sideshow. I am also doing a mod of this right now.

I have gone a step further however, having removed the actual Raiders version hat instead of using the extra loose one, since the actual version the figure had fits the head post better.

I then had extra hair resculpted around the hat to fill in any gaps, and the head repainted. Going to use a Hot Toys body, Sov Studios jacket, DID shirt, Crystal Skull version pants, and Mike Fisher custom belts to finish it up. Heres a preview.

EddyW 07-31-2010 02:51 PM

Ah, ok I see. I always thought that German Disguise Indy had the same headsculpt as Raiders Indy, just a different outfit. Thanks for the info. The head looks great by the way, it has a little bit more expression.

hemble 07-31-2010 07:37 PM

Thanks Deckard I have been racking my brain wondering what HS that was, I'll have to see if I can get some of them as they look perfect.

I've always been frustrated trying to find an accurate Harrison Ford head.

I've seen a lot of Arnold S, Sam Worthington, Christian Bale, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Leonardo Di Caprio and other stars... but never a HF head!

...I'm not even sure I could replace the head of my 12" Hasbro Whip Action Indy even if I find one.

That's a really cool image, Deckard. I love that little monkey, who looks like he's going to sneak off with the Idol and leave Indy with a bit of a problem!

Mr. Fusion 10-10-2010 11:55 PM

I must say, your Raiders Indy looks great with the German disguise head, Deck. Not to mention the Sovereign jacket and all.

Here's my Last Crusade Indy with the German head

The jacket in the first shot is Sideshow with a Relic hunter shirt. The other jacket is from the Relic Hunter (lining removed) with my brother's custom made shirt. I'm not set on either. I'll try to get a Sovereign jacket or if I sell a kidney, a Kato E jacket.:p

I don't post much at all but I love to lurk and check out all of the amazing work in this thread. I spotted these customizing thread on another board and thought I would link them here. This may be the best HF likeness I have seen in 3.75 form.

Sorry to dig up this earlier post, I'm going to customise some Indy figures, but I can't figure out the heads used for Mac and Oxley. If anyone could help identify, thanks.

I got the Han Solo that comes with Stormtrooper belt, chest armour and helmet. (Mot to be confused with Han in ST disguise)

The likness of HF is really spot on and IMO the best I have seen, unmodified.

The pic here doesn't look as good as the one I bought but when I have looked at both figures on the shelf, this one looks more like HF to me. But is does look off scale to the body.

http://chasevariant.blogspot.com/201...ction-han.html

Hasbro have really upped their game on some of the new SW figures. Even got Hamill right on a couple of the new ones!

I agree, that is a great HF head. Unfortunately, I missed that figure when it hit retail last year. I passed it over a couple of times, then when I decided I wanted it I couldn't find it. However, it looks like they will be reissuing the head early next year.

Nah mate, you've not cocked it. If you've picked up Serpentor to use the head for your mechanic, use the forearms from that figure - although you'll have to extend the wrists slightly. Otherwise, if you can get hold of Yarna from the Star Wars line, her forearms are perfectly good. Below is my attempt using Serpentor parts...

Billy Ray 11-18-2010 06:46 PM

Not much of a "custom" I know, but I recetly purchased a couple of the new Endor Rebel Troopers and switched out the head with one of my German motorcycle riders to have a little variety amongst my troops. Worked equally as well for the Germans as I now have this guy in my German army:

Looking good Billy Ray - where is the officers hat from ?

DaveEK 11-19-2010 11:39 AM

Great German Billy Ray, and many thanks to Inky Skin. My Serpentor isnt here as yet, but will get the arms onto my Mechanic asap.

Yes, great looking German Billy Ray! I have been away from here for too long but look forward to getting back to my Indy customs. Here is my WIP of Belloch in white shirt. would this be Tannis Belloch?

Since this picture I have sculpted over the shirt so you can't tell there used to be pockets there. I know the head is not painted yet but what do you guys thing of my Belloch head?

Nurhachi1991 01-03-2011 05:20 PM

These customs are so amazing......

i used the ROTLA indy, the first one with the golden idol, used the shoes, arms & jacket; the head & torso from the temple trap (for my, the best head sculpt of the series) and the legs and hands of the indy with horse.

the look is more based on the MARVEL COMICS feeling of the character, with gloves, of course.

I dont get it is this a custom or are you just stoked to have an Indy figure?

One (really minor) comment - not sure if it's the photo, but the noggin looks a little large for the donor body...

It's a head swap - so not a custom in the true sense of the word - but an improvement to a stock figure by combining the best parts from a number of sources. We encourage all levels of ability in this thread ;)

Luke Sprywalker 01-05-2011 09:26 AM

This is a modified Jedi head that came in the "statue figure" 3 packs from the battle at Geonosis. I think it was a TRU exclisive but don't quote me on that one. I could make these available if there is enough interest. I agree the head is a tad bit big but I think once painted it will fit in a bit better. I would love to see it shrunk about 1/16 th of an inch or there about as that would be perfect. Here is a pic of the original head I modified and painted. Don't worry I finished sanding that chin before it was cast.

Also doesn't he wear the white and brown wing tip shoes with this outfit?

All credit for this next one goes to my friend Inky Skin as I will do a version of his Raven Bar Marion. Thanks buddy. The feet are too big and I am looking around for some smaller feet.

He does. And the great thing is that if you have a Ceremonial Belloq, he's wearing those brogues - the pattern is sculpted - you just need to paint it in. I was thinking - he also has clear goggles in this scene which match those worn by X-Wing pilots quite closely - perhaps you could cast some in clear resin ? Check out Ron Hembles excellent 1/6 interpretation to see what I mean - http://www.figurerealm.com/viewcusto....php?FID=16793.

BTW - the painted head looks much more in-scale. Weird n'est pas ?

With regard to smaller feet for Marion, I think I used Spalko's and sculpted on some laces. A lot of people overlook the foot scale with female customs (it's almost as frequent as the whole 'big hand' issue). You could try some of the recent RoC Joe's (Cover Girl, Baroness, Scarlett) for smaller military-style boots.

Luke Sprywalker 01-20-2011 09:41 AM

Inky, thanks my friend. Ron's version of Belloch is a great one! It makes for a perfect model to go by. I am currently half done painting this figure.

Here is the finished Jungle Belloch for the same customer.

He looks good, Luke (though some more detail on the helmet would have been a nice touch)! Love the wristwatch.

I may just commission one of you guys to do some jobs for me. Roughly, how much would it cost for:

-Young Indy 1908 Egyptian outfit with helmet
-Young Indy 1916/17 Belgian tropical kit
-Young Indy 1917 French Foreign Legion uniform
-Belloq Peruvian jungle outfit
-Blumburtt Indian Service dress with helmet (I know Inky did one already)
-11th Poona Rifles sepoy

Someone did a custom job based on Jim Steranko's production paintings. The photo is very large so here's the link: http://mrfusion1138.tripod.com/siteb...ianajones3.jpg

Wish I could take credit for Blumburtt - but he wasn't one of mine. Excellent figure though.

However, I did take a crack at a Steranko Indy a while back...

And I do have at least one version of Young Indy awaiting completion...

Lance Quazar 05-04-2011 12:03 PM

Spry's version is very similar to my own Belloq from a couple years back -

inky_skin 05-04-2011 03:20 PM

Oh go on then...

Show us yer Belloqs ;)

3 years on and I still don't like that pith helmet. Might be time to revisit it...

Oops.:o Right. I checked back in the thread (post #999) and it was a certain, Jr.Jones, who did Blumburtt. Great work on ALL of his customs.

Inky, I LOVE your Steranko Jones and the Young Indy from Mexico is looking good already. Can't wait to see the finished product!:)

Where did you find the helmet, Lance? It's a bit big but I'm very curious.

Yeah, that's a rather large helmet. Spry created one of the right size but its shape is off. Did you paint the puggaree white or did it come like that? Belloq's puggaree is khaki (like on Lance's figure). A 'revisit' is in order, mate!

Still, though, excellent Peru Belloq and I really like the way you have the gun pointed backwards. Nice touch!:hat:

Lance Quazar 05-06-2011 08:40 PM

Unfortunately, I'm not good at sculpting so I had to make do with what I could find.

The hat on my Belloq is from a Russian GI Joe figure from 2006 - Sgt. Misha Zubenkov.

I cut off the red star and turned the hat around so it would look more like a pith helmet.

Unfortunately, the only action figure I know to exist with an actual pith helmet accessory is this extremely rare Vietnamese figure from the Ultimate Solider line. It's not accurate to the hat Belloq wore, but it's better than the one I have.

Wish I didn't miss this auction last month, this is as cheap as I've seen one sell for!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...t_500 wt_1156

inky_skin 05-07-2011 06:05 AM

I've been working on sculpting some 1/18 hats etc recently, so I think the time might be right to try Belloqs headgear again...

dumdum

Does anyone have any good reference pics - top/left/right/back/front ?

Lance Quazar 05-07-2011 12:52 PM

Just the ones you can find online -

Even though it's big, I still prefer the one you used because the shape is closer.

Willie Scott's nightclub gown

Hi guys, this is just a little project/hobby of mine that I posted in another thread - it's my miniature version of Willie's nightclub gown:D
I'm now thinking of making a full custom Willie Scott figure, to complete the whole look.

http://raven.theraider.net/showthrea...799#post506799

Here are a few extra pictures of the outfit:

The following two pictures show my previous attempt at this dress - it wasn't quite there, but I was on the right track I think :)

So yeah...I'm clearly obsessed with this particular outfit... but I think I'm in good company, everyone's work and level of dedication is brilliant and really inspiring:whip:

Exulted Unicron 06-29-2011 12:13 PM

I know the Oxley figure is mostly the KOTCS Cemetary Warrior

anyway, as SDCC is fast approaching, I made my own SDCC Indy to show just how quick and easy it is

Head: ToD Indy
Rest: KOTCS Indy

Billy Ray 06-29-2011 01:37 PM

You know, when I first saw the pics of the SDCC Indy, I thought it was just the ToD head on the KOTCS body but now, after seeing this, I am not 100% sure. It looks a lot like the ToD head, but something looks different...maybe the hat? the brim looks bigger on the SDCC one to me. Maybe it's jsut the difference in paint apps that is throwing me off though.

Exulted Unicron 06-29-2011 01:55 PM

They're the same, it's just the paint apps that are different, and of cause the Indy figure is at a slight side angle, whereas my picture is dead on.

Billy Ray 06-29-2011 02:47 PM

Yeah, you are probably right. I thought, at some point during Toyfair, that Hasbro ahd said this would be an "all new headsculpt". Oh well, I'm not too worked up over this figure anyway, it's the rest of the set that I want. He is a nice bonus, but I wouldn't have missed him if he weren't included. I made my own "ultimate" Raiders Indy back when the line was still going strong...
