It was about 29 pages of pictures.... and 100 of arguing. The final post was a warning to knock off the arguing and to start a new New Pictures thread....

....don't know if that's new (probably not). It was on the Indy4 spoiler site previously linked to in this thread.

...anyway, look at Indy's Bag! The strap is UNDER his jacket all the sudden. :)

I'm not so sure about that. Coincidentally there's shadow where the strap seems to go under the jacket, but it doesn't.

Its a shame the new pics thread is closed. :( Oh well. That picture is on the back of a KOTCS card

A_True_Believer 05-05-2008 07:46 AM

What a strange photo. The cemetary warrior doesn't look real; it looks like the action figure. There is also no movement blur around Indy that I can see, leading me to believe that this is a posed shot. And who the heck is the guy in shorts? That outfit seems too modern. Could this be a behind-the-scenes shot with Harrison practicing with his whip, and the man next to him is his trainer or a stunt coordinator?

Hedwig 05-05-2008 07:53 AM

Yeah, that could be a behind-the-scenes shot... It would be odd if in the middle of everything is a guy with quite modern clothes.

M.C. 05-05-2008 07:58 AM

The strap is ON the jacket !

tocksic 05-05-2008 07:58 AM

It's absurd to even consider this could be actual movie footage. :D Sure it's behind the scenes stuff.

I have completely forgotten: is the strap supposed to (or "supposed to") be on or under the jacket?

Does it really matter?

Hedwig 05-05-2008 08:18 AM

No, it doesn't, but I remember how in one point, people were like "OMG! The bag strap is on/under the jacket!"... But it doesn't matter.

I love how there are skulls and skeletons everywhere around and in the temple and cemetary. I'm also loving the color pallate of that picture. It looks like a really creepy deleted scene from Raiders.

All I can say about this is how excited I am KOTCS is going to have a lot of whip action. I was amazed that Jeffrey Boam couldn't come up with any good scenes for Indy to use his whip in LC. I can count two times and like Indy said, it was "kids play".

Looks like KOTCS is going to have a lot of swinging and a lot of attacking defending with the whip.

Wow. I never noticed the severe lack of whip action in LC, nor how much more whipping KotCS apparently has in store for us.

Thanks for bring that to my attention.

"Junior, I can't believe what you just did."

I'm starting to wonder if the whip isn't replacing the pistol. The whip is relatively more "kid-friendly" and aside from 2 images of Indiana holding a rifle and his pistol, I doubt if there will be much gunplay on the hero's side of things, however I should not mind to be happily proven wrong.

Whenever Indiana has utilized a firearm, the ensuing moment has often been memorable, if not inspired and heavily motivated (Cairo Swordsman, end of the Basket Chase, Don't Call Me Junior, etc...)

It should be under the jacket. It won't ruin the movie for me, but I wish they'd kept it that way. It looks better in my opinion.

I think it looks better too, but I'm guessing that Indy removes his bag a lot in KotCS, or he keeps the skull in there for a portion of the film. I can't think of any other reason why they'd change it for this movie.

Or maybe it's just a style thing.

nitzsche 05-05-2008 12:46 PM

The only reason for the subtle change I can figure is that Indy takes the bag off in the movie for something and it looks better to have him do it quickly than to have to remove his jacket.

One could also assume he learned his lesson in LC that having the strap under the jacket makes it harder to unhook yourself if you get snagged.

Edit: ZiR beat me to the punch!
