Indiana Jones Complete DVD Collection box
After attempting a redesign of the films boxes in a Young Indy style (and putting a halt on the project as it was too much work outside work and freelance jobs) I've decided to make a Indiana Jones Complete DVD Collection box. The box would hold the three YIJ volues as well as the film releases. I have art to show but cannot upload until I get to my home computer, but until then I have a request:
Does anybody know if Anna Mary Jones appears on any of the VHS Young Indy boxes, and if so can somebody provide me with a high res scan of her? I'm putting together a montage of supporting characters from Struzan art to appear on the box. As space is limited, two to three Young Indy characters will appear. I already have Remy and hope to add Anna. Many thanks and I'm looking forward to showing off the completed box! :whip: |
Here's what I have designed so far :D I'm also planned to distress the background a bit more, but at the moment I'm adding in the supporting characters. :whip:
![]() Comments and suggestions are welcomed. I especially would like to have peoples opinions on the naming of the films at the top. I omitted "THE" from ROTLA and KOTCS, but am wondering if I should add them back in to remain consistent with TOD and LC. Thanks! |
That's awesome! Definitely don't add the "the" to ROTLA or KOTCS.
This is just my opinion, but I'd use a younger Indy, preferably from ROTLA, as the main Indy image, but it's your choice. |
Thanks! :hat:
Yeah, I considered using the ROTLA Indy (and may make a variation with the ROTLA Indy). My reason for this choice was that I couldn't find a ROTLA poster image that was high res enough at the time, but have since found one. The problem with the ROTLA poster is that the figures aren't as detailed or as true to life as the later posters. Strangely enough, this also applies to the KOTCS theatrical poster (compare the detail of Mutt and Marion to Willie and Short Round). |
this is really cool! cant wait to see the finished product
|
Thanks!
The latest version contains Sallah to the right of Jones Senior and I'll be adding either the natives chasing Indy art of KOTCS or Indy on horseback from TLC under the logo. No luck finding Anna Jones, so that may be it for supporting cast. I MIGHT work in Belloq from the Richard Amsel poster (only if his screaming head doesn't look silly with the rest of the cast). The sides on the box will have a large portrait of Indy on one side(same as on the side of the 2003 box) and a large portrait of the Young Indys on the other (SPF and CC). :whip: Hope to have the new versions up tonight. |
Nice work so far!
Since you've asked for suggestions, I'll note two things. First, if you're going to list the Adventures of Young Indiana Jones first at the top, you might also want to swap the order of Raiders of the Lost Ark and (Indiana Jones and) the Temple of Doom; right now you've got a mishmash of both internal chronological order and production / release order, and I think sticking with one or the other would be more desirable, but that's perhaps a matter of personal taste (it reflects my own organization of the series into internal chronological order on my shelf). Second, at the moment you have five supporting characters on one side and three on the other, and one of them is an antagonist (well, unless you count Henry Sr. or Willie ;) ). To me, it seems a little funny to have a single villain grouped on one side with two of Indy's friends / family, and then five other friends / family members on the other side. I think I'd either sprinkle some more bad guys around or remove the one you've got, and perhaps rearrange the rest accordingly for balance. But it's still a fine job so far. My comments above probably sound more critical than they're meant to; I think it still looks great already. :hat: |

Sadly,Anna Jones did not appear in any of the episodes that were released on VHS years back.Infact,None of the Carrier episodes were. As for an Anna Jones picture,Does this work for you? http://www.theraider.net/showimage.p...ngof/mo_16.jpg Also,Since I'm in a Young Indy mood. You should really add Miss Seymour to your cover and for another villian,Why not add Zyke from "Treasure of the Peacock's Eye".I always thought he was a really cool baddie. Eh,Why not...Add some Mata Hari in there as well.:p |
