I really enjoyed the Rupert Bear comics. I've also enjoyed Pooh as well.

I'm not familiar with Paddington Bear however. Does he have a cartoon or comic strip?

I just remember him in children's books. What shows did you watch as a small kid? I watched Winnie the Pooh (The one where it was actors in costumes), Dumbo's Circus, Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, Loony Tunes, Merry Melodies, all the Disney Shorts.

As follows:

Mr. Rogers

Sesame Street

Loony Tunes

Dexter's Laboratory

Sleeping Beauty

Lassie

Leave It To Beaver

The Andy Griffith Show

Peanuts AKA Snoopy

And this one show with a dwarf and rabbit or something like that. I don't know the name of it as I was to young at the time.

That's about all I can think of. I did not really watch shows when I was real young because I enjoyed books a lot more than shows and I also watched more films than cartoons.

Priceless matey. Absolutely priceless.

BTW Rocket that Fritz the Cat is cute and very, very funny. I like that image ya posted.

Stoo 08-21-2009 11:21 PM

Redeemed, when you say, "Jonny Quest: The Original Series", I'm assuming you mean "Jonny Quest" (the original '60s series)? Filmation did an animated "Flash Gordon" in '79/'80 and it was absolute dynamite but I think you're referring to the '90s version? The reason I ask is because those are the only 2 options I could possibly vote for (if I was to vote).

Hey, where's Gomer in your list? It's linked to Andy Griffith (as I'm sure you know) just like Beverly Hillbillies/Petticoat Junction/Green Acres were all connected. (I was always partial to "Francis, The Talking Mule" over "Mister Ed".:p)

Anyway, Lonsome, I'm with you on this. More TRUE classics:

I Dream of Jeannie
The Munsters
Gilligan's Island
M*A*S*H*
Happy Days
Diff'rent Strokes
Barney Miller
Three's Company (adapted from the UK's "Man About The House")
Family Ties
etc.

...and that's just the live-action comedy category! I could go on and on about this sh*t all day so I'll try and refrain.:o

Anybody like All in the Family? That's another great sitcom.

I know the Batman show was mentioned, but how about The Green Hornet? LOVED that show.

"Green Hornet" was very cool (including the theme tune). "All in the Family" was a ground-breaking show and a household staple in the '70s. A true CLASSIC because people are still enjoying it today. Dick Van Dyke was superb in his day ("Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", anyone?) but, yeah, Mary Tyler Moore in capri pants was an eye-popper. She looked way better on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" then she did later on her own program (another classic).

Sorry, Redeemed, but this is probably the funniest thing I've read on here in awhile.:D Fritz is cute? That's a new one! From what I gather, you would not like it at all. (Sex, drugs, foul language & sinful behaviour:eek:). Don't confuse Fritz with "Felix the Cat" or "Top Cat".;)

BTW I was indeed speaking of the classic Jonny Quest.

That was one great program, howbeit not as great as The Adamms Family.

Yet no character will ever be as memorable as Lily Munster. She was my favorite as a child and she still is my favorite. Out of all the TV women and girls and I enjoyed as a little boy Lily Munster and Nefertari from the classic The Ten Commandments.

Yeah the Addams family was great too...but in a different way. Morticia was hot, (Carolyn Jones) but Christina Ricci in the film...

Anne Baxter from the 10 Commandments was picked for a reason hmmmm. Boobs! Not a big fan of bangs though...you listening girls?
Always loved that film. She was easy to look at, always liked Rosalind Russel, (speaking of old timers) just a pretty face...

Look pal, lets not get dangerous. I liked the Addams Family not for the girls but because it had a far better sensible story plot and better quality than the Munsters. BTW i did NOT like Anne Baxter for sick porno reasons dude, she was just cool to me.

Sick porno reasons? Boobs? Easy to look at? (Anne Baxter's character was conniving twisted self righteous opportunist and a whore...that's cool to you?)

I'm sorry if your parents mediate your posts, but that's plain silly.

Boobs are wonderfull! They're god given theme parks for adults! I know you have to keep up appearences for mom and dad, but you're not fooling me...unless you're an ass man.

ROFL!

Your continual indignation at anything sexual is absolutely hilarious.

Sure, but allow me to have my fun.

I do take beef not with the basic tenets of Christianity (or any religion for that matter), it's how man has corrupted the ideals to fit their own prejudice that I find really appalling.

Chiefly among them, sexuality as it's come to be presented in Christianity is something I find wholly troublesome. It has come to promote denial and repression of basic, inherent instinct that I find extremely dangerous.

No big deal...I thought most guys were big fans of boobs. That's all...

The Drifter 08-25-2009 02:57 PM

Not to stray from the topic at hand, but. . .
Redeemed, are you single? If so, how can you honestly say that you are not attracted to a woman's body?
When I first met my wife, I loved her personality, but I also liked her "assets" a great deal also.

I know you believe in God (as do I), but did he not make us humans to be physically attracted to one another? How else would we mate and expand the population?

RedeemedChild 09-03-2009 07:12 AM

Well I've been watching Leave It To Beaver these past few weeks and I'm deeply in love with the show all over again.

I'ts truly a classic if I ever saw one. Man, Eddie is the best character along with Beaver's mother and father.

I also think that Lost in Space deserves a revival be re-airing the original program on television or giving it a new television series. Dr. Smith, Will, Don, Robot and Penny were my all time favorite characters!

Nurhachi1991 09-03-2009 08:56 AM

Forget big boobs it's all about big asses!

Hawkeye 09-03-2009 09:05 AM

One of my all time favorite classic shows is I Dream of Jeannie. In my opinion there is no other such program that can ever top I Dream of Jeannie.

I've never really been into the whole Genie genre but I've really enjoyed both WayForward's Shontae and TV Land's I Dream of Jeannie.

While I'm feeling nostalgic I guess it would not hurt to suggest that Universal could create a new I Dream of Jeannie animated television series for Cartoon Network with the same music as is used in the above intro for the original show and draw the characters in the same art style as in the above video.

They could even create comics or manga, TCG and revive the whole I Dream of Jeannie franchise for a new generation.

I simply can't get enough of I Dream of Jeannie! :hat:

Nurhachi1991 09-23-2009 01:44 PM

I don't know much about Gilligan's Island. I thought that ABC's Lost was a remake of Gilligan's Island to be quite honest.

I've always enjoyed comics and so when I was introduced to manga back in 2004/2006 I was head over heels with the exciting Japanese take on what we in the West know as comics. I really would love to see an animated I Dream of Jeannie program on either Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. Hopefully if you guys are willing to work with me I'll create a petition and mail it or e-mail it to Universal Studios and pay a visit to the Cartoon Network office here in Atlanta, GA and see what I can get done. So how about it guys? Could you help me get a I Dream of Jeannie petition?

Again as I said before the new animated show must be drawn in the same style as in the opening animated sequence for the I Dream of Jeannie 1960's show that I posted earlier.

BTW I've discovered that Airwave is currently publishing I Dream of Jeannie comics and below is a cover to one of them.

Furthermore I also wonder if any of you guys liked the classic Bewitched?

If so I've noticed that the article states that the show made references to Alice in Wonderland.

Yeah thats the show. My girlfriend LOVES it and was showing me episodes. I'm not really an Anime guy I prefer American Cartoons but this show is pretty cool.
