As Mini-Indy prepares for the next leg of his journey, allow me to lobby once again for a trip to Memphis! :D

Here's a taste of the adventure that awaits Li'l Dr. Jones...

Billy Ray 05-09-2011 01:54 PM

So no news on Indy?

inky_skin 05-09-2011 02:04 PM

Indy is with Rocket. And Rocket is AWOL...

harvey 05-09-2011 03:20 PM

Looks like Mini-Indy will not be seeing the Pyramid of Memphis. :(

We're moving to OH at the end of the month.

Still would like to be added to the list. I'll be touring our new home town big time and would love to take him along. ;)

inky_skin 05-09-2011 04:27 PM

Harvey, you're on the list ;)

Unfortunately we're experiencing some communication issues...

HELLO-O-O-O? Rocket, where a-a-are yo-o-o-ou???

Inky Skin sent the figure to me on May 6th, 2010 so it's been exactly 1 year (+ 9 days) since the intial dispatch. We need to get Mini-Indy back on the road again because, as we all know, the good professor does not sit still!

Earth calling Rocket Surgeon...Come in, Rocket...:whip:

inky_skin 05-15-2011 12:05 PM

I fear mini-Indy has embarked on The Great Adventure :(

Stoo 05-15-2011 04:43 PM

Heh. Indy isn't dead Wu Han-style! He's just on ice, chilling...like a dish of monkey brains...:p

C'mon, ROCKET! Put him in the mail, already!:gun:

Lance Quazar 05-16-2011 02:06 PM

I'm considering this over.

Rocket is still on the forum, he is posting quite regularly, but he has ignored entreaties from numerous parties for information and updates about the whereabouts of the figure.

The details of the disappearance of the figure and its "miraculous" return are themselves rather suspicious.

There's no reason for Rocket not to have sent the figure in the more than two months since it "returned" or at the very least for him to respond to the numerous messages that have been sent his way from multiple parties.

Either he doesn't have it or he has no intention of ever sending it. His behavior is bordering on pathological at this point.

Either way, it's gone and I'm not going to waste any more energy on this or give Rocket any further validation or attention.

In Rocket's defence, he has been away from home for the past while and he asked his family to put Indy in the mail (but I'm guessing it's not their #1 priority).

Cripes, Rocket paid $50 out of his own pocket to get the figure back from the deadbeats at the post office. Please, Lance, cut him some slack.:)

I'm happy to apologize and retract if I'm proven wrong.

But given that Rocket has been posting away in other forums consistently (even as early as this morning), the "out of town" excuse doesn't fly for ignoring the repeated queries and communiques from me and other sources. If nothing else, that's just rude.

But given his mysterious silence on the matter, the fact that two months have gone by and the suspicious stories about Indy's "amazing" return** the picture that it all paints is not a promising one at all.

**The story about the package returning via bribery don't quite hold water, either. Would a postal employee risk their job by stealing a random package? I guess it's at least possible, though extremely unlikely. However, would an employee risk exposure by accepting bribes and returning said package? It's a bit hard to swallow. But, again, I welcome the chance to be proven wrong.

inky_skin 05-16-2011 04:19 PM

Ok - I'm ending this before the thread gets derailed. As of June 12th there will be a new figure for the project. Whether Rocket has the original or not is a moot point. I don't want what was a bit of frivolous fun turning to recrimination.

Once again, thanks for putting me in the mix. If someone wants to get a figure together now and set it for delivery to me this Saturday or Monday, I'm planning to make stops at all of the Memphis sites above one last time before moving to the Buckeye State. I can also take him on a tour there as well. Let me know and I'll PM you my Memphis address.

A TWO-fer!

Stoo 05-16-2011 05:16 PM

Rocket & I have been communicating throughout the whole affair and I will wholeheartedly vouch for him. Believe me, the loss & retrieval of Mini-Indy was GENUINE (including the $50 he paid to get the figure back).

The package wasn't "stolen" by a post office employee. It was 'returned-to-sender'! They f*cked up by not sending it...

I WILL get Rocket to mail the original figure. Please, trust me, Sir Ink...:hat:

June 12th...Heh heh. Does that have anything to do with the "Raiders" 30th Anniversary?;)

You're absolutely right. No sense in losing sight of the "fun" and getting angry and upset over something which is supposed to be whimsical and fun.

Apologies to EVERYONE.

p.s. - don't know why it's not letting me edit my previous posts, otherwise I'd delete the offending remarks entirely.

Rocket Surgeon 05-16-2011 05:41 PM

Sorry guys...I apologize. I own my own business and I haven't had the time or energy to give the Raven any real attention lately so I've missed a lot. I just put together my first Indy Cast segment in over a month and a half and it was bare bones.

Anyway I have him, (still) and I'll post the delivery confirmation reciept tomorrow.

Thanks Stoo for the support, I don't blame anybody for running out of patience, once again, my apologies.:hat:

Billy Ray 05-17-2011 09:13 AM

Glad to hear "little Indy" is still safe and secure. He's been through a lot.

For what it's worth, and as much as I want to see new episodes in this saga, I'd like to see the original Indy continue his adventures.

Sometimes real world situations get in the way of the fun stuff like this.

inky_skin 05-17-2011 11:24 AM

@Rocket - thanks chum.
@Lance - I don't blame you for your frustration.
@Stoo - well met - takes a true Indy scholar to spot a date that significant.
@Harvey - I look forward to your tenure with mini-Indy.

Okay everyone - let's start looking to the future. Next stop - Lance ! Onwards :whip:

NickTurner 05-20-2011 09:29 AM

Thanks everyone! I've been holding my breath  and can finally exhale! Anyway the point of chirping up now is just to reiterate my intention to be a link in the chain whenever my turn comes up.

Welcome back Indy!

inky_skin 05-23-2011 06:43 AM

I wouldn't exhale just yet. No further news has been forthcoming...

NickTurner 05-27-2011 02:09 AM

So what's the holdup now? This was one of the most entertaining threads on here and it would be nice to get things moving again.

Stoo - I trust you so I'm not going to pursue it further yet. I'd take ANY news right now - good or otherwise. However, unless Rocket get's his finger out, I'll be hunting him down in all the other threads he's finding time to post in at present - doesn't take two minutes to drop by here and give an update (or send me a PM). It's common courtesy...

Just a quick note: I'm off to Yosemite in 2 weeks. It doesn't look like 'lil Indy will be headed my way by then, but thought I'd toss out the offer again.

Plenty of other adventures this summer for him to tag along on, though.

Seriously ? You actually take the time to post in this thread and that's the best you can do ?

My Inbox has been cleared, is it too much to expect that an explanation is forthcoming ?

We have an 8-year-old and a 4-month old. I consider getting up in the morning a major victory.

It's only about 8 hours, and your 8 year old can make it. I wish I had, when I went, but I let our 2 year old at the time dictate the day.

Lance Quazar 06-01-2011 05:39 AM

Phew....it's been a helluva journey.

Finally made it to Los Angeles. This is going to be one busy trip.

Gotta catch some shut-eye. No time to unpack...

Stoo 06-01-2011 06:00 AM

HURRAH! I told you Rocket was going to keep to his word.

Like Inky says...ONWARDS!

Billy Ray 06-01-2011 10:12 AM

Hurray!!!! Looking forward to the further adventures!

Pale Horse 06-01-2011 11:13 AM

Wow, Indy is so close to me, I can smell him...

Stoo 06-06-2011 03:50 PM

@Lance: Any teaser photos for us before Indy embarks on his next adventure in Culver F**king City? (As you called it way back when.;))

Billy Ray 06-12-2011 06:20 PM

Hmm...was hoping for an update today...the 30th anniversary of ROTLA :(

Lance Quazar 06-12-2011 10:27 PM

Sorry, guys. Bad timing.

We're getting on a plane tonight.

No sooner did he get to LA that he's leaving again.

Stoo 06-22-2011 12:42 PM

Did Indy disappear again? It's been 3 weeks.

inky_skin 06-22-2011 01:19 PM

Nope - Indy is safely with Lance, who has been on travels of his own. He's been in regular contact and it looks like mini-Indy's first outing is going to be a big one ;)

Stoo 06-22-2011 01:30 PM

Good to hear, Inky, but don't you mean mini-Indy's *5th* outing?;)

As for the former - well, I was kidding about 30th celebrations ;) - although I'm a little underwhelmed by the lack of official recognition of this milestone.

And the latter...hmmm...something tells me mini-Indy won't be able to resist...

Yes, the chance to reunite with Jock should be motivation for him to attend. :D

I believe Lairdo and Doom Town are going, and RaiderMitch is coordinating the event.

There's a 50/50 chance I'll be going, so if I have him by then... ;)

InexorableTash 07-17-2011 12:54 AM

Do we have any sense of Indy's upcoming schedule?

inky_skin 07-17-2011 05:42 AM

Indy will be at SDCC this coming week...and we'll see what plans Lance has for him after that...

Lance Quazar 07-25-2011 01:40 AM

Coming Soon!!!!
