Indy 4 will be BAD because Ford is Old

Captain Defence 08-03-2006 07:37 AM

I think Indy 4 will be good!Age doesnt matter,Harrison Ford is always the true Indiana Jones!:whip:

ClintonHammond 08-03-2006 12:31 PM

I will reserve judgement until I see it, but I have pretty LOW expectations.....

Indy Parise 08-03-2006 01:13 PM

I'll go see it. If it's bad, oh well, I've still got the original trilogy. If its good, then there's no problem.

ClintonHammond 08-03-2006 01:16 PM

Good attitude, IP!

ClintonHammond 08-03-2006 01:22 PM

Too grainy, too photoshopped, to 'out-of-context' to be worth much more than a spit in the rain....

Very very few actors look as good in real life as they do under film makeup and lighting.....

ClintonHammond 08-03-2006 01:35 PM

Looks aren't everything....

My thoughts too! I'm looking forward to it and hopefully it will be just as great as the other three films. If it's not then the other films are still here for us to enjoy.

I haven't seen Firewall yet but I heard Ford does a pretty good job in that and it seems he can still handle the physical action, which I see as a good sign.

ClintonHammond 08-03-2006 01:50 PM

I don't think I heard a favourable review of Firewall......

yeah, it wasn't memorable by any means, but Ford did a good job.

Also something negative about Harrison Ford, replican't. Why the hell are you here???

IndyBuff 08-03-2006 11:00 PM

If Harrison is too old then the producers have no one but themselves to blame for putting this project off for so long. Every day that goes by is more time added on the clock. After nearly 20 years they've had more than enough time and we easily could have had another film or two by now.

I understand they want to take their time and do it right; I think that's fantastic and I'm glad to see that kind of passion and thought go into the film. However, over the years we've been given mostly vague comments and constant delays. I think Ford is still capable but it really needs to happen now or else I think it will be too late.

monstera 08-03-2006 11:18 PM

Harrison Ford seems to share that sentiment.

ClintonHammond 08-04-2006 10:15 AM

"If this movie isn't Oscar material"
Indy movies have only ever won technical Oscars anyway.... Are you hoping that it wins, or is at least nominatied for Best Picture or something?

Cause I don't see that happening at all

ClintonHammond 08-04-2006 10:50 AM

Ahh.... but define "Great, quality Film".... therein lies the problem.... that's way too subjective....

There are people it the world who thing that Napoleon Dynamite was a "Great, quality Film". Are they right? Are they wrong? I donno.... I only know that I disagree....

But if they're wrong about that, who's to say that anybody else is right or wrong about any other film?

ClintonHammond 08-04-2006 12:11 PM

"Let's just hope it's on par with the previous three"
Sure, but look at the number of people who didn't like Last Crusade.... or didn't like Temple Of Doom.... Can something be said to truly be 'on par' when opinions of the original 3 are so disparate?

It will be what it is, when and if it ever gets made.... and people will like it or not, in varying degrees from individual to individual....

Wasn't Raiders of the Lost Ark nominated for Best Picture (but lost to Chariots of Fire)?

Gee, what a negative thread!

Judging by Firewall, Harrison is gonna be kicking some serious ass! :whip:

lol. Thanks for the funniest thing I've read in donkey's! You serious? Firewall? lol.

Harrison Ford looks so tired and old I kept waiting for him to chase the baddies in a bathchair. Stupid, ridiculous, embarrassing film.

As for proving Ford can still do 'action', well, the Monty Python Dead Parrot sketch comes to mind....

I assure you, I'm being perfectly serious. ;)

From this thread, http://raven.theraider.net/showthrea...all#post197618 I said the following:

KDuncan 09-04-2006 12:18 PM

I concur, Canyon. He's still got it in him, it would just be good if Lucas and Spielburg actually started making the movie.

Exactly. I think Ford is still very capable of doing this but he has to be given the chance first.

Aaron H 09-05-2006 12:34 AM

Wow talk about a rehash. I think this horse has been beaten beyond a bloody pulp.

indyt 09-06-2006 12:25 PM

No doubt Ford can do the job. The questions is, will the script ever get done and filming begin.
