    Ideas For New Indy Actor

I'm confident Alden would be a good fit for the part if they go with him. He certainly looks the part in those new desert shots. I would definitely like to see future films focus on a younger Indy as we have the 1930s pretty much covered with Ford's first three films. I was also a big fan of...

    Red Letter Media on KotCS

I watched the review today and despite the really irrelevant vulgar and gross stuff that he he feels the need to include, for whatever reason, I found it pretty entertaining. I'd go so far as to say the guy's a big fan who was somewhat disappointed with KOTCS -- a real hater would not go through...

The Crystal Skull: A German Creation

Well, we can forget those interdimensional beings from the space between spaces. It turns out the Germans were behind the Crystal Skull the whole time. http://www.spiegel.de/international/spiegel/0,1518,790456,00.html I think having Indy breaking up a black market ring of fake antiquities...

    Hot Toys Indiana Jones Figure

The Hot Toys version certainly looks like an awesome figure. Does anyone know whether a lower-priced figure will be released, without all the accessories? The regular HT figures usually go for about EUR 175 ($260) in Germany and this deluxe rolling-eye version will go for EUR 250 here -- that's...

    Continue with the series?

I'd love to see a high-quality revamp of Indy, whether on TV or the big screen, and preferably without Ford. There have already been four incarnations of Indiana Jones, so no one can say Ford is the only Indiana Jones. In fact, Sean Patrick Flannery played Indy much longer than Ford ever did. I...

    Flannery as Indy

Funny, Flannery and Ford's characterizations were so different, it's almost as if they were two completely different characters. In a way they were. I think it was Flannery's Indy that was much more worldly -- more traveled, more learned, more intellectual. You never saw Ford's Dr. Jones speak...

    Kensington Runestone ???

I believe it plays a major role in William Dietrich's latest Ethan Gage novel, "The Dakota Cipher." It's the third book in the Ethan Gage novels, which began with "Napoleon's Pyramids" and "The Rosetta Key." They're fantastic books and if they haven't yet been optioned for film, they surely...

Dutch DVD Version -- Caveat emptor!

Just wanted to add that the online store was happy to refund me the money for the Dutch DVD set (which they had been advertising as being the 12-Disc set when in fact it was only 6 discs!). For any Dutch and Flemish folks considering a purchase, I definitely recommend getting the UK version.

Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood's Daughter

Maybe she was Mutt's daughter who was raised by her grandparents, Marion and Indy, after her father went missing in the Himalayas. Growing up, she naturally called her grandparents "Mom" and "Dad."

Dutch DVD Version -- Caveat emptor!

Thanks Fommes, yes I saw that it was Dutch Filmworks. I figured it was something like that. But these are exactly the kinds of things I don't understand about DVD distribution. This DVD set should not be sold without the extras, that's the whole point. Not to mention the packaging is exactly...

Dutch DVD Version -- Caveat emptor!

Thanks Stoo. Yes, it is an outrage. I also picked up Volumes Two and Three and those are fine (regular English versions). The Dutch version packaging is the same size, but have only one disc per flap instead of two, like the other sets. The six discs include: 01) My First Adventure & Passion...

Dutch DVD Version -- Caveat emptor!

I just received the Dutch version of Volume One of the DVD set (from the UK). Not that I wanted Dutch subtitles, but because it was well priced. I assumed it would be the exact same version as the regular U.S./U.K. version. Low and behold, it's not a 12-Disc set but a 6-Disc set with all the...

    Young Indy Linking Segments

Just picked up the series on DVD and noticed too the jarring linking scenes. Some are indeed better than others but the one in Masks of Evil, wow. Not only Indy's friend having had a nightmarish, blood-soaked vision of Venice (not to mention Indy's very long hair in the scene contrasting sharply...

    How I'd Do Indy 5

I got it, I got it. If Abner Ravenwood found Shangri-La, it's likely he would not want to leave, as Shangri La is heaven on Earth, a place of peace, tranquility and learning, where the people remain eternally young. So in order to re-introeduce Ravenwood, have him return from Shangri La a...

Sacrilege? Can there be Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford?

I'm not calling from a radical departure in Indy's character make-up or for a modern update. Of course Indy films should remain thrilling action-adventure movies. All I'm saying is that Lucas and Spielberg have straitjacketed the franchise by insisting on the same tired formula picture after...

Sacrilege? Can there be Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford?

I think all great characters are just that -- characters. And while I love Harrison Ford's performance as Indy, I think there is plenty of stories for Indy to tell, and unfortunately Ford is not getting any younger. I'm not too keen about watching a 70+ Indy with his biker son off on some quest...
