Should Henry Jones Sr., Sallah, Shorty, or Willie have been in KOTCS?

I don't think Marion would have liked seeing Willie there at all. And since Indy never won an argument with her...

Burger King Indy Toys and Whopper

Hi all, I search this thread and also Google for information on the BK promo but I haven't seen anything about glass mugs. In Portugal they don't have the Indy Burger, but they have the 8 toys and also are giving a collection of 4 glass mugs w/Indy theme (one for each movie). :D To get a mug you...

    German CINEMA magazine Lucas interview

If it's true, I'm not surprised, I always suspected Mutt was going to be Indy's son. But I'm dumbfounded Lucas would just let slip a major plot point like that. I googled the magazine and found their Indiana Jones website special section at...

ArK of the Covenant paper weight

Me too! :D That's amazing! Are there any details about the promo yet? Is it going to be available to non-US collectors?

    No Shia for Indy

I had never noticed the similarity with John Cusack! I like Shia but he is of course NEVER in the same league as Harrison... Definitely not an action hero. In fact my favorite Shia expression is «amazed/scared» which is basically his expression during the whole movie Transformers, LOL :rolleyes...

ArK of the Covenant paper weight

I searched eBay and you can find a few of those, from what I can tell they are sold as souvenirs of Jerusalem, so that's why they're not accurated to ROTLA. It could be a nice prop for a diorama with a 12' Indy, I think :D

    John Hurt's role?

In the thread about the new picture that showed up today, there's discussion that a barely seen figure behind Indy is the John Hurt character. I agree, because you can also see what appears to be Marion behind Shia and, like it's mentioned in the picture thread, John Hurt refers to the heroes as...

I hope there's no age subplot

I don't imagine them delving really deeply into the issue except for the occasional «it's the years AND the mileage» joke...:p

Crystal Skull may be the first film in a new Indy trilogy (Vanity Fair speculates)

I agree, the movies are about Indiana Jones the man, period, not about some all-encompassing story or force... even if Shia plays the role of Indy's son, it will make sense with the rest of the movies... in LC Indy finally reconciled with his father and ceased being «Junior» in Henry Jones Sr's...

    Spoiler pics from Vanity Fair

I lived the prequel hype day by day, but then again this movie will have huge expectations regardless of what Lucas says. All he can do is make us more nervous. Having read the article, to me it confirms, in sort of code, both the "aliens" rumour and the "Mutt is Indy and Marion's son" rumor...

    New spoilerish LEGO-set explanatory notes

That's right... I Googled the word, and found "Riesenameisen" used for both meanings. You get the word in the title of a 70's horror flick about really giant ants, and you get it in the title of a book about "normal" giant ants (the ones from 2 to 5 centimeters long mentioned in...

Anybody else trying to avoid Indy IV news?

Every time I read a spoiler I sort of wish I didn't. Trust me... I just came from reading about the Lego sets on the spoiler forum. It's not that I don't like what I read; it's that I always end wondering how it will work out. I lived through all the Episode 1 anticipation, so I know...

    Could a bullwhip...

I agree it would be a cool scene, Indy being a little snarly like he sometimes is, and Shia is really good at wide-eyed amazement (at giant robots, whip-wielding archaeologists, whatever). I can just imagine all that greaser attitude falling apart at the first sign of trouble! :)

    The All Things Alien Thread

I just had to check out that Saucer Men from Mars thing that's mentioned around. I read a synopsis at indyfan.com and...  But to be honest, this whole alien gods + Mayan temples stuff always reminds me of the Alien / Predator movies. So I kinda hope they don't really go that way...

The Art of Adventure: Indiana Jones Poster Retrospective

Yeah, I wish they had done a complete retrospective instead of just a selection. I had never seen that first Struzan poster for Raiders, though. It's great, and I really like the way he depicts Marion side by side with Indy. :D Gotta search the web for one of those...

Why is Star Wars more popular than Indy?

Hey, I saw Indy at 8 and was immediately a fan. Then I saw Star Wars at 11, and was immediately a fan. :) But you have a good point. When I was a kid I just loved Indy for the adventure and humor. Watching Indy now (saw Raiders just a couple of months ago), it strikes me as really interesting...

    Indy Disney Plush Toys

OMG! Indy the Pooh! Raiders of the Lost Hunny! :D I had no idea these existed. Now I have to go and prowl the internet of one of those...

Why is Star Wars more popular than Indy?

Well, I love both Star Wars and Indy also, so I admit this is a difficult one. Indy is good old-fashioned adventure; Star Wars is a whole mythology in itself, with good and evil, fall and redemption. Maybe that explains why Star Wars draws a stronger, deeper reaction from people - me included...

In the ship fight scene in LC....

Well there! I wonder if there's some buried treasure under those ruins? :) Come to think of it, this whole city could be fertile ground for treasure hunders! The downtown is built over Roman ruins, there's a medieval castle and then the Carmo church which collapsed in the 1755 earthquake...

In the ship fight scene in LC....

If I remember correctly, in Raiders Indy loses the idol to Belloq but brings some other stuff, we don't really see it that much but I remember him telling Marcus "these are goods pieces" and then Marcus telling him that the museum will be happy to buy anything he brings. I would like the ship...
