Actually, I thought a lot of the stunt work was pretty good - and I especially liked the fact that many stunts were done by real people, not cartoons! However, I did think some stunts, like Indy swinging from the chain, thru the window, etc., didn't fit well with other Indy stunts. Seemed a bit out of character.
Incidentally, my favorite Indy stunt is when he (stunt Indy) jumps off the horse and onto the steel beast in LC. Always loved that. Simple, but great.

I still think the best stunt in the film is when Indy swings from atop the crates and misses Spalko's jeep. Probably because it was the only major usage of the whip...
Second place goes to Indy swinging on the chain and kicking Dovchenko into the control room.
