Do I need to see attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion or whatever it was? No: that was the whole point of that speech- that those images are lost forever like tears in... oh you know.
If they made a movie with same visual style and atmosphere and strong story as the original Blade Runner, I'd have nothing against it. I'm just afraid that it might turn out to be another washed out action clip without any characterization like so many sequels that we see nowadays...
