Does anybody know whether there are any plans to release The Last Crusade in 4K?

I don't know of any plans, but you can almost certainly count on it happening sometime around when Indy 5 is released.

Nothing official, but there are some fan 4k preservations going on.

Here is the title frame:

Color correction and cleanup also needs to be done.

Nope, bit of a waste of time to be honest. The studio will bring out 4k versions officially that will be much better quality. The future is 4k so it's inevitable.

In the meanwhile there's nothing wrong with the 1080P version on the blu-rays. If you want the best quality officially available, purchase that.

There will probably be a set in a few years when 4K becomes more common. In the meantime just save your money for all that new stuff you'll have to buy just to watch it.;)

There's no promise of any of that happening. And I wouldn't want a compromised version anyways, since the colors have been altered, along with
some of the scenes throughout the trilogy.

They cannot be legally released, can they?

Not really. but that's not going to stop fans from working on it.

There were several 35mm preservations done for the Star Wars trilogy,
and a 4k one in the works. Also, other movies are being worked on
also.

It's just going to take time. If they ever do get released in 4k,
they will probably be new remasters, and not the original theatrical versions
either.

I have more footage of trailers, and some others that I will post at
some point.

Thanks! Will you post them in this thread?
