I've started to build a government warehouse diorama. I used the Marvel figure factory crates & applied labels for the large ones.

Ark fits perfectly inside!

Thanks to Soloboy5 over at Rebelscum for the Ark crate templates! :hat:

hey Monarch, how did you make the decals to go on the Figure factory crates. Ive got a ton of those crates in my Indy display now and would like to fancy em up like yours(sorry Marvel:p )

thats weird. as much as i like the Indiana Jones figures, the paint is a bit sloppy. gloss should only be used when detailing one item of clothing from the other.

for instance i have a model from a 1960's set of Bela Lugosi as Dracula. for the cloak and shoes, my dad said it would be best to paint that a gloss black. however leave the suit in a rather flatter color.

it works well since you can see the contrasting elements from each paint.

thats maybe why the arms look so much different from the jacket.

Here are the templates I used. Again, credit goes to Soloboy5 at Rebelscum.com for the original Ark crate template.

I changed this one to look more like the crates in the warehouse. Using photoshop, I typed with the font 'Impact' & erased parts of the lettering so it would look more like stenciling.
I also did a Russian Army crate! Using a translator website, I put 'Top Secret. Property of the Russian Army. Do not open!'. By the way, I translated the Russian back into English & it said 'The highest of classification. The Russian Army does not reveal!'!!! Anyway, on with the template...

I printed these out onto A4 labels, you can get these from any good stationers. (Or just any paper & use glue) Then you just cut them out & stick 'em on! :whip:

wouldn't you know it, I am making a diorama based of the design by tnswman , ( Hope you don?t mind tnswman (y) ) Anyway I ran out of paint , so when I went to get some more, well, it was gone. I went to 5 stores and no one had the right color, I did how ever find a similar color, .And As I said it does have many of the same features as the one done by tnswman, but that design was awesome , and I had to have one. I did make some minor changes , such as little cross?s to mark graves... I will post some pics tomorrow (y)

don't mind a bit buddy!! Have fun! Good Job!!

Ha! I can actually read what it says, and the literal translation is "Highest Level of Secrecy. Property of the Russian Army do not open!"

You should have put a period after the first word of the last line, or put the last two words a few lines lower. Otherwise, it looks like a run-on sentence, as you can see in my translation.

That's weird. I've never noticed that before! Probably Hasbro being sloppy with the paint aps again! ;)

No, that was all flash. For photographing figures and models it is always better to have a multiple lamp setup and dispense with the built-in camera flash to avoid such glare and color alterations.

Great work so far everyone. While taking a break from creating my 'Indy's Classroom' diaroma, I started to wonder what to do with all the pieces of Indy figures I had lying around (plenty of bodies arising from using deluxe heads to customise basic figs). So - I created what I like to call 'Indiana Jones: Raven Bar Fight'.

<a href="http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c273/inky_skin/?action=view&current=indy_raven.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c273/inky_skin/indy_raven.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Recipe: Basic Raiders Indy (Body, Head)
Deluxe Temple Trap Indy (Jacket - more flexible - easier to stretch round the torso when 'zipping it up')
Agent Spalko (scene-accurate pistol)

I then weathered the hat and pants/shoes - something I think is lacking on the Indy figures in this line, and painted the gloves on.

Any comments ?

Very nice Inky! How did you get the jacket to stay closed like that? Wear are his belt and whip???

The first thing I did when I opened Spalko was give her gun to one of my Indys. I wonder if Hasbro will give us a "Raven bar fight Indy"?

Thanks Billy Ray. The jacket is glued shut - the one that belongs to Deluxe Indy is flexible enough to stretch it around the body and close it when the gun belt and oversize holster have been removed (holster is hideous and the presumption is that the belt is under the jacket). The bag had to be cut away from the jacket itself (Indy doesn't have it in this scene anyway). I totally forgot the whip, so it (and the holder) is now attached to the jacket to retain articulation. Was wondering whether to add some snow on his shoes - but probably not :)

I'm sure that Hasbro will crank this one out eventually. But in the meantime...

Used Nick_Macarty's crate scans that I found over at Rebelscum.com and made this ark crate. It's made from balsa wood, the scans, and wood glue. Let me know what you think.
