Gonna be tacky. Didn't they learn from the Masters of the Universe movie that cartoon characters in a magical/mythical setting shouldn't be transported to a city where they mingle with everyday folk? This deserves a facepalm. I loved the smurfs when I was a kid, but I think they just ruined them.

Why are all of my beloved childhood cartoons being raped and burned?

Plus, it's in the old 3D gimmick also.

I know right?

However, How To Train Your Dragon was one of the best 3D animated movies this year.

Nevertheless, I'd still like to see more traditional animated movies. I really enjoyed what I've seen of The Princess and the Frog. Still, I do think that Disney's 3D Tangled will be the next best thing after How To Train Your Dragon.

I'll be honest here.

I liked Snorks over the Smurfs. Smurfs had some.. cuteness... but I honestly never got into them as a kid as I did with Snorks, Shirt Tales or any other super cute critter show. I liked Pound Puppies. Legend of Big Paw, that Pound Puppies Movie is another story.

Smurfette? She was cute... for a blonde, blue-skinned chick. ;)

She was cool, though.

The show had a huge quicksand fetish, though.

All I remember was teh episode where gargamel created Smurfette and then the Snurflings creating a girl smurf that ended up vile.

I remember very little about the Smurf cartoons, apart from their annoying voices, and that awful Father Abraham Smurf Song!

I guess via that rationale, the Na'avi and Mystique are 'cute' too.

They were blue, and that's a good start. Mystique was definitely cute - especially in the live action movie...

Aalya Secura, too. She's a cute Smurf:

"Just Keep Singing Singing....:

We have joked about Smurfs for too long. I must now reveal a dire warning that will affect all of humanity...

I have seen Smurfs. I have knowledge of the Smurf reality. Smurfs have been visiting our Blue Planet for thousands of years. They travel in red and white spotted mushroom shaped flying machines. Michaelangelo was inspired by his vision of Papa Smurf to adorn the image of God with a white beard. Papa Smurf has also entered our collective consciousness as Santa Claus.

If you see a Smurf, do as I did. Squash them quickly underfoot, or else they will succeed in their plot to overthow all humanity.

There is already evidence that they have infected the creators of Avatar, X-Men, Nemo, and The Fifth Element. The end is nigh, as world domination will soon be theirs, with the release of their very own movie...

:p

I used to watch the smurfs all the time when I was little, But this movie looks a bit creepy. I'll probably be dragged to see it by my friends younger sister though.

Anyway, I'm willing to at lest watch the new Smurf's movie though it won't be as good as the classic cartoon series I'm sure.
