An ancient elephant skeleton has been found at a construction site in Kent, England. It has been identified as a straight-tusked Palaeoloxodon antiquus, and would have been twice the size of a modern African elephant. A selection of flint tools were found in association with it, so it was probably killed and butchered by humans.
