They just did a quick edit to Indy for the poster.COW Indy head onto bridge scene Indy body.Makes you wonder why they did that though.The fedora is part of the image,Odd that they would exclude it.

Kinda like this one...



Now,I LOVE this poster,It's my second favorite Indy poster right behind the Temple of doom poster.As to why Indy doesn't have his fedora is beyond me...

Thats a great, great poster.

I think the reason he doesn't have his trademark brown leather jacket and fedora is because they weren't iconic features yet. You couldn't NOT include those in the poster for any of the sequels.

That could be one of them.I was thinking another reason was because they wanted to show Ford's face more clearly.Might be a way to get people to buy tickets..

I thought the reason they didn't show his hat in the third poster might be a cultural one. It looks Japanese or Chinese, or something of that sort. With his nice hair like that and ripped shirt, it reminds me more of a martial arts film, haha. I dunno, kind of odd what they did there though.

Yep, seen them all. I love the oriental one. The way they've superimposed his head from the Club Obi Wan scene onto his ripped shirt look. Very strange.

It is clearly a photomontage of the Indy face from ObiWan Club scenes and of Indy body from the bridge scene...
