Sparky is the whimsical talking creature that greets Dr. Jones in the aftermath of his first adventure...he invites him into his secret underground world where he meets Boss Doggie, the leader of the Prairie Dog Alliance (who curiously doesn't look anything like the race he governs). It turns out that Sparky is pretty much an outcast of this community, but he's able to help Dr. Jones dig a tunnel to South America, and eventually convinces Boss Doggie and the others to go up against the Russians in a massive Jungle Battle.
Early reports suggest that the movie starts going downhill as soon as Indy meets Sparky...
