Battlestar Galactica's Richard Hatch, age 71.

This one stings as Richard was the first celebrity guest I met at Calgary Comic Expo 5 years ago, and it was the first time I ever went to a con. Super nice guy.

Gonna have to put my autographed 8x10 into a frame and on the wall beside my signed pics of Carrie Fisher and Bob Denver. Sucks that the idols we grew up with are now departing.

Spielberg's father turned 100 this month...

...but his mother Leah Adler just passed away at 97. RIP.

It sucks to hear about Bill Paxton.

Twister was great, in which Bill played.. Bill, weatherman-daredevil and killer of both his evil twin and Dorothy.

R.I.P.

Bill Paxton has delivered ever since he came on the scene as the older brother in "Weird Science" (1985). A throw-away movie but worth watching for Bill's performance. Great!

R.I.P., Dude.

So as an older long-time reader of obituaries, I've got to say that the storm chaser tribute for Bill Paxton is one of the coolest I've seen.

I always enjoy that part of the country -- folks from the Res, the noodling, gun-loving cowboys -- everything but the casinos.

This was pretty cool. The "P" goes right through my city. A friend of mine is a storm chaser here so I had to ask him if he was a part of this. Turns out he didn't.

My favourite Chuck Berry tune is, "Memphis Tennessee".
A song with a twist ending. (He's only trying to phone his daughter.)

Murray Ball, 78, last month. His New Zealand comic strip was as representative as Tintin was of Belgium. Promoted by Charles Schulz. I was fortunate enough to discover it in the 80s.
