Reviews are rather mixed, I think I'll give this one a miss.

Some fan you are!

Did anybody else know that they created a dark ride for the original flick back at Kings Island in Ohio?

I can see the potential, but I don't know that this was ultimately a good use of the, well, license.

You're the type of viewer that spawned my preferred rating systems of moviesr:
  • Four Stars = Opening Nigh, Crowd Fighting, Full Price, Big Screen, and capitalizing on spoiler free experiences at the water cooler.
  • Three Stars = 3rd Weekend Matinee, 'cause big screen, and I need to get away from the kids for two hours, with some real adults
  • Two Stars = HBO/Netflix/Streaming on my 85" screen and 7.1 Surround Sound Home Theater System (yep, read it).
  • One Star = TNT/TBS Option at the gym, because that's the only place I'll ever watch that Monkey Flying piece of Shiloh Mr. Falcon movie.

Most films for me anymore at 2 star films. The only time that changes is when I want a crowd experience with it to enhance the viewing.

Zdweller, is this a one or two star for you?

Two star. When I'm pumping iron I don't want any distraction, innit.

So I gave it a watch today, just got back...I liked it, there were parts that I thought were faithful to the gameplay segments of the reboot series... also seeing Lara's evolution as a character here too. The parts in the finale, kind of reminded me of Crusade just a bit , what with Lara's interactions with Mathias.

Actually check that, a plot twist which i will not spoil here, made the film give off a bit more of a Crusade vibe maybe. But yeah.

7.5/10.

I love the irony of saying there's a plot twist, without actually spoiling it.

I liked it overall. There are some shortcomings but for me it was much, much better than the Jolie-led films.

I found it very distracting when it came to the bits that echoed Last Crusade. The parts that came directly from the 2013 game were well done and I liked what they did when departing from the game's story as well.

Yeah same, I did like what they did in changing the ending up a bit, gave it its own spin. But yeah im glad I wasnt the only person to get the 'Crusade' vibe from it.

And yeah Pale Horse, sorry I was trying to figure out how to say it without spoiling anything.

I'm not interested in seeing it in theaters but I'll probably Redbox it or catch it on Netflix. It looks decent but not something I'd fully invest in.
