TOD wave in stock at Brian's Toys!

Hey all, Brian's Toys currently has the TOD figures in stock. Pretty pricey though...$109 for the six TOD figure set, $119 for the entire case. Still, thought I would pass it on. Soooo glad I ordered them when I did!

wow that's like 18.00 a figure.. Talk about price gauging.. I am so glad I was able to find a set at Krogers. I feel sorry for those that still need it. I wish I could have helped out more people.

Yeah, I pre-ordered from Brian's Toys before they were released and back then they were $69 for the set. I'm so glad I did, seeing as how they have jacked up the price and I have still yet to see them anywhere at retail. Still, buying the whole set of six for $109 is better than getting them seperately as they are charging $25 for individual TOD figures!

Watch them show up at Big Lots next year for $4 a piece though.

Entertainment Earth has cases for $89.99. They aren't in stock now but I ordered a case 2 months ago. I got it with no problems. 12 figures were in the case. One complete set of TOD figures and some peg warmers.

Just another option.

I expected the TOD figures to show up at retail right after I bought my case. (My luck). I wish they would. I could use an extra set. One set is enough to keep me happy though.
I don't regret getting the case now.

A dealer on eBay I use (often) has them for $60 a set with a free 3D lenticular motion card. Can't say more as it's against the forum rules but look for a seller from Canada with the offer for the 3D card with buy it now.

I know everyone always wants to land a deal (myself included), but let's be honest. When something is a collectible and the market supports a certain price, then it can't really be called price gouging.

We aren't talking about an end of the world water shortage scare. It's pretty clear that the ToD line is going to be scarce in the long run, and also that the market is supporting 18 or so bucks a figure, and therefore, that's there value.

It's not like this is an isolated incident, you know?

I agree with you to a point. But other online retailers like Razor's Edge and Entertainment earth both didn't jack up the price on this wave and like brian's toys they are direct with hasbro.

You know what's weird is, I recently got a catalog in the mail from Brian's Toys and they had the set of six TOD figures for $69.99 (which is what I got them for when I pre-ordered from them) but the web site still has them at $109.

yeah they Never and I mean Never Miss a chance to wack somebody. Old toys is different. But moving a Brand new item up to almost twice what they were charging is really BS. Anyone that shops there will wish they hadn't!

A dealer I buy from still has them for $74.00 a set (plus shipping)... plus she usually throws in some goodie as a freebie (Top Trumps cards promos, etc)...

PM me if you need their info.

Well, this was the first time I ordered from them and I have to say that I had quite good service. I originally had them pre-ordered from Toyrocket, but they claimed that they weren't getting them until December, which turned out to be untrue. I even e-mailed them about this and they said that Hasbro wasn't shipping until December. Brianstoys had them in stock and for $69.99 at the time, so I cancelled my Toyrocket order and went with Brians Toys which was about $10 more. I accidentally clicked next day shipping (which cost more than the figures themselves!) and quickly called their customer service number. They were very helpful and immediately corrected my mistake. A couple of days later, Toyrocket had them in stock...go figure! In the end, even though I paid a bit more, I received top notch customer service from Brian's Toys and got jerked around by Toyrocket. I really don't regret buying from them. I agree, their prices are pretty inflated most of the time, but occasinally they also have some great deals and they usually have a lot of stuff in stock that other e-tailers don't (most likely due to their high prices).

What do you expect? These are LOW production . OUT OF PRODUCTION figures. They are not Current waves of NEW toys anymore.

People who wanted these cheap should have listened to the news as it was being told and grabbed them early. Now, you pay for waiting. That's the way it is and always has been.

I don't think it is a bad price myself. If someone really wanted these they are reasonable.

The production run on the TOD wave was VERY low. Therefore, people should still grab these when they can.

I don't "expect" anything.. I am simply stating the obvious.. check ebay.. there have been PLENTY.. as in LOTS.. of full 6 figure TOD figure sets sell for around the 70-75 dollar mark within the last week, as well as some still for sale at that price range... even at that price, which is close to twice what I paid at retail, is still around 6 bucks cheaper per figure... so yes, to label charging 18 bucks per figure as "gouging" would be an accurate statement... and just in case there were any questions about what "gouging" really means :
–verb (used without object) 10. to engage in swindling, overcharging, or the like: I bought my clothes there before they began gouging.

Just because some people are selling them for cheaper does not mean that he can't sell them for higher. as usual, his store will maintain the higher price and as everyone else sells out, he will be the last one standing and his price will have to be paid if people want the sets.

I hope they raise to 150+ for a set. They are one of the few modern collectibles that actually hold or gain post market value.

blah blah blah blah blah... Tnswman knows everything about toys... blah blah blah... we said he was "gouging".. if he is selling something for a good bit more than others in the same market he is doing just that, "overcharging" AKA "gouging"... 6 months from now if he is the only guy with them he can, in fact, charge what he wants.. simple friggin economics.. supply and demand and all of that crap.. but this isn't six months from now.. it is right now, and there are plenty of other choices for buyers to shop and spend a good deal less for the same product.. to pay around 30% more for the same thing would be "ignorant" ( one of your favorite words)... but whatever.. you are the resident expert on all things toys...

Brian Toys equals big Rip Off! Brian Toys = I'll take an item and double the price after I find there is collectors who can't find them. A real scumbag all the way. I've never met a single person who hadn't seen him do this time and time again with many items that are new. He couldn't give the figures to me free. I hope he loses his ass in this economy!
