Indiana Jones Toy release absolutely anemic

When Revenge of the Sith toys hit shelves, retail stores packed the aisles with them in 2005. Yesterday morning, I went to 5 Wal-Marts, 4 Targets and a Toys 'R Us. I had to wrestle with the Wal-Mart people to bring the boxes out of the back. With TRU, they had a tiny little shelf of stuff. Targets had NOTHING and not one employee was willing to go look.

Hasbro and the retailers should be ashamed... I'm thinking this is going to be like 1982 all over again with the Indy line "inexplicably" not doing well and being cancelled.

Hey guys.......gotta jump off subject for a second. I don't mean to start any trouble or anything and I like everyone here so please don't take this as a jab. You can even ask tnswman....I was afraid to question one of his remarks because that is how much I don't like rocking the boat...so once more I ask you don't get offended by what I am about to say. And I hope our lead moderator Finn will agree.

We are all guest here. A lot of people are policing the forums like they are honorary moderators. Have you ever heard of the saying: "too many chiefs...not enough indians". Mr. ChromiumBlue...do you realize you just re-directed a staff member here to another thread because you didn't want another one opened? They can pretty much do ANYTHING they want....and that is the way it should be.

I have pretty much been posting less and less because there are a lot of new people coming to The Raven because of the new movie and toys and we are not making them feel welcome. yes...they are not going to know the proper forum ettiquette right off the bat....but can we cut them some slack. I notice Finn has and he should be the one redirecting and policing people's threads...not us.

Sorry...I just had to get that off my shoulders...back to the subject at hand.

Yes...I think stores did handle this porrly...and I encourage people to email the company headquarters and let them know that they did a bad job on what could have been a more memorable event.

The amount of similar and unnecessary threads on these boards is staggering. It's so cluttered and difficult to find the appropriate thread to discuss.

I do not feel that I have done anything wrong, except convey my opinion and direct another member of our forums where his concerns are being discussed.

Do you realize that in telling someone not to police the forum, you just policed the forum?

The irony is really quite rich.

I'm going to have to agree with ChromiumBlue37 on this one. Not that I think you are entirely wrong, Crayfish, but the moderators can't do everything, and why start a new thread when there is a thread being discussing the same thing. And not many pages back, either. As a staff member, he should know better than anyone what to do when it comes to starting a thread, and shouldn't be allowed to do whatever he wants.

And I'm not jumping down your throat or anything. I think you expressed your opinions quite nicely, actually. And I feel at times the redirects can get annoying, but in this case, I feel it was okay.

Thanks guys.

I am really sorry and I do apologize if I came off as arrogant and bitter. Not my intention at all. I realize that I am not a moderator and still "young" in these forums.

It's a deal, as long as the lunch has nothing to do with Pankot Palace!

Of course, I hear the fruit platters are pretty spectacular...

I don't think yo uare rocking the Boat.. and I HATE the smart allec ways some Moderators make comments about threads.. But Chromium and I are just pointing people to a LIVELY thread that details out the history of this toy release. Maybe this thread will turn into that lively thread but why not at least see what has been said already?

I was just about to start a thread about this very topic, until I spotted this one.:hat:

So what's up with the future of this toy line? As of right now from what I've seen in stores, it doesn't look great! Walmart, Toys r Us, and Target all had lousy selections with very little in stock! Their sections were all small, pushed to the back of the aisles, and had a handful of 3 3/4" figures, deluxe figures, 12" figures, a vehicle or two, and that was it! Oh yeah, they did have plenty of sound FX sausage whips though if nobody got one of those yet.;)

Personally, I know Hasbro has plans for future waves but it doesn't look too good in my opinion! Once the summer winds down, and KOTCS disappears from theaters I think the toy lines interest will dissipate too. I don't want that to happen, but so far it doesn't look like there will be much longevity to this line, unless they plan on making more films!

Check Super Walmarts; they're packed with figures

Both Super Walmarts in my town are absolutely brimming with figures. There's a whole cube-shaped display outside the toy aisles, plus an endcap filled with toys, AND the regular in-aisle section next to the Star Wars toys. I was there today and there were too many figures to even properly shelve. They had them piled up on the tops and bottoms of the racks. A full stock of vehicles, too. It's a good thing I already have all of the 3.75" figs or I would have dropped a pretty penny. I did pick up the troop truck and jungle cutter though, which are excellent, by the way. Check out Super Walmarts; they should all have similar displays at this point.

I think it may depend on your LOCAL retailer. The Walmart in the town I live in is always packed with figures. Including 12", deluxed, and two packs. But the Walmart in my hometown has absolutly Jack. (n)

Wow, well maybe I need to expand my search! Thanks for the tips guys!:hat:

Both the Targets, Walmart, Meijer, and Toys R Us by me were all lackluster with their displays and quanity of merchandise. I'm not sure where there's a Super Walmart but I'll look into it, that and KMart too.

The K-Mart in my area had a small selection, nothing spectacular, but I did get lucky and find an excellent Temple Indy w/Idol there. The paint app was so much better than any I'd seen at other places, that I picked it up immediately, despite the fact that, like Target, they have about a dollar and a half mark-up.
