The NYTimes has an awesome flash page with classic Al Jaffee fold-ins from over the years. If you haven't seen what MAD fold-ins are, check this out!:

Oh yeah, it is John McCain! If you look at the two statues, both sides match up to look like John McCain.

This George Lucas memo to Spielberg is pretty funny:

As you can see on the cover of this MAD issue they must have already published color editions of their Indy parodies.

Issue of Mad

Anyone get the new issue of Mad magazine?
It has a funny spoof of a letter from George Lucas to Stephen Spielburg. I can post it here if anyone would like to read it.

I wasn't expecting it to be out yet, but I got mine today. I haven't read all of it yet, but I did read the embryo Jones. Since we're having a baby in a couple of weeks it was perfect timing.

Oh man, that was actually really funny. I didn't know MAD still did funny!

"Good news: Karen Allen said she's got room in her bust schedule for the role of Marion Ravenwood from Raiders... assuming she can get another waitress to cover her shifts at Ruby Tuesday."

I lol'd. HARD.

I have. It parodies itself.

I like the MAD Indy self building storyboard from 1984. With different storylines, depending on the box you're reading forward. It's like:
Indiana Jones [hamlet] [a sheep ][with his grandma]...and so on

You know that?

- embryonic jones and the temple of womb(a mad poster)

- 10 things indiana jones hates more than snakes

Wonder if it helped with KotCS. I'd love to see it if anyone can dig it up.

I wonder how that is even supposed to be funny... Although, perhaps it is merely meant to be "mad"...

The three issues of the original trilogy are really critic.

I mean they mock those movies saying they have unvelievable scenes, plot holes and loads of special effects.

Same what people say now about KOTCS....

There's a new "Indy 4" parody featured inside the latest MAD #493:

"Inadiaper Jones and the Kingdom of the Creative Dry Spell"- By Arnie Kogen & Hermann Mejia

Awesome scans...I haven't seen those cartoons in years. (Mags were kept in parent's basement, until the water heater decided it was time to flood the basement)...

Great stuff and even more cooler seeing Al Jaffe still doing the fold-ins...nice!
