Does anyone know what the word is that Marion yells out during the drinking contest? It's something like "pistori" or something. Is it a real word? And how is it spelled?

She says a lot more than "pistori". I can't remember exactly, probably would have to watch the DVD to hear what she says. It'll be something in whatever language that Nepalese speak.

Heck, I always thought she said "pistodeh"...
Anyway, I think it must mean "wait" too.
Either that or "just a sec, the bet's still on!" :)

I always thought she said "Pistoley," which is what my dad calls one of my cousins. It's an Italian word (which I misspelled horribly), so it's not the one she uses, it's just what I hear.

OT: correct Italian spelling is "pistola" (meaning handgun), but to call anyone a pistola is quite an insult, frequent in the northen cities (Milan, for example). :D

This is a 148 page Nepali-English dictionary. Only a few of those captioned words match. The others aren't even close.

ARU: another, more, either, further
PARA: aside, separate, beyond,further
MOHANI: charm, enchantment (wasn't Mohan the name of one of her employees?)

Nice link, phonetic rather than script generated...a little research is in order.

No...
I'm betting:

ULALA

ullas: joy, delight

ARU: another, more, either, further

ALAH

alhad: delight, fulfilment

NEA:

nira: near, near by, close by, not

NISKI:

nishcaya: sure knowledge

...as in tomorrow is another day (to play and drink some more).

POOT

poto: a smearing rag

RUAIAH

runu: to weep, to cry

HARADAD:

haraunu: to lose, to defeat

I thought it rang a bell. I think somebody here made a custom action figure of him.

I looked through with phonetic interpetations in mind, but didn't find anything. As you say, it'll take a bit of work. Will have to listen to the dialogue in ROTLA again to see how close the subtitles are to the words to spoken.

I expect more insight from YOU RA...you really think that was meant for you, (and that I didn't know it?)?

To quote yourself in reference to Hitchcock:

It didn't translate all of them and I don't know how accurate Google translate is, but here are some options for answers at least.
Aru = more, other, further, else
Para = on
Poot = the opposition
Alah = ten votes
Nea = right
Niski = out
Garu = cumbrous
Bolean = speak
