Awesome custom Spry ! I don't recognise the armour version you used for the base - which is it ?

There are actually three sublines in the new "Iron Man 2" Hasbro lines - Movie, Comic and Concept.

The base figure Spry used here is the "Comic" version of the Mark I armor.

I think it looks great, really evokes the old pulp/serial aesthetic, much more so than the screen-accurate "Movie" version.

I am definitely going to try to pick up a couple of these babies.

new GI Joe figure that im sure will find some uses as Indy custom fodder...

I like both "Dr. Venom" and the "Adventure Leader", particularly with that backpack and what looks like a cool removable vest.

Good fodder indeed! Hope these aren't too hard to get, they appear to be listed as exclusives.

The Prince of Persia figures have been out for about a week, so I thought I'd share:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/33194829@N08/4575442235/" title="Prince of Persia - Zolm by tymorg85, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4575442235_04a18baa31.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="Prince of Persia - Zolm" /></a>

Extremely impressive detail, which is what you'd expect from McFarlane Toys. They are more delicate than your average figure at this scale (again, what you'd expect from McFarlane). The packaging claims that they are 4 inches, but they are pretty clearly 3.75". They fit in very well with the Indy collection. I'd recommend them to anyone hoping to expand their Indy Middle East collection.

"Why'd it have to be snake?"

Thanks for the update. I'm a big fan of Todd McFarlane, and to discover that he's produced detailed Indy-esque figures in matching 3.75" is great to hear. :D

I was expecting the PoP figures to come out at 4", so only good for over-sized characters.

Gotta politely disagree with you there, Charlemagne. I think the figures are a bit too tall to work with the Indy line, at least not without a little trick camera work.

They definitely are pretty close to 4", IMHO and are about half a head taller than the Indy and SW gang.

however, I did pick up the cool Alamut gate today which looks pretty spiffy.

I'll try to get some photos of that up soon...

Maybe Prince Dastan is a little larger than the villains? Both Setam and Zolm are pretty close in both height and proportion to Indy. Here's a comparison shot between a ARAH GI Joe, Indy, Setam, a 25th style Joe, and Iron Man. I swear they were all lined up evenly and there is no trickery going on. Sorry for the low quality capture:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/33194829@N08/4579653703/" title="Size Comparison by tymorg85, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/4579653703_7055209494.jpg" width="500" height="239" alt="Size Comparison" /></a>

As you can see, Setam and Indy are very close in height, almost eye-to-eye. Zolm (not pictured) is a little taller, although that is more owing to his turban than anything else. I certainly think that any height difference between the figures is within the acceptable, normal human range. I wish I had also included my 4" McFarlane Halo figure, because he truly is out of scale with Indy. Like I said, I have no reservation recommending the PoP figures to Indy collectors, but your preferences my vary.

Well, I stand corrected. Zolm is the figure I saw in the store. Didn't buy it, but I lined him up next to some nearby SW figures and there was a noticeable difference in height.

Guess it's not nearly as much as I thought.

The Dastan that came with the gate is the same size as the Indy figures, but he looked smaller to me than the others on sight.

How's the gate, Lance? Is it a decent scenery piece for Indy?

It's a GREAT scenery piece for Indy. I will try to get some pictures up in the next couple of days...

I bought 2 of these figures as well. Have not seen the gate yet and that is what I really want. Lance please hook us up with the pics of it.

I saw the 4" & 6" figures yesterday at the local TRU. No sign of the playsets or deluxe 4" figs or roleplay stuff. Anyone in the US find this line at another retailer besides TRU?

McFarlane has pics of the entire line on their site:
http://www.mcfarlane.com/toys/categorytype.aspx?categoryid=8

From the pics, the Alamut Gate looks okay. I'll probably wait to get it on sale or even clearance.

I do want all the 4" figs and the Deluxe Dastan with horse. If the bridle and saddle blankets are removable I may pick up multiples and army build brown horses.

Those 'riveted' joints are kinda ugly - but nothing some minor filling wouldn't fix. A little customising to add a necktie to the Face figure and there's about a half dozen Indy characters I'd want to make from him :) I hope they do some generic "US Army" guys that'd fit with KOTCS. I also hope these figs see retail in the UK :(

we'll probably see them in TRUs and catalogues priced at around £7.99 a pop....then give or take by august, they'll be in poundstretchers priced at £1.99 each. It happened with Indy, Star Trek and Terminator
