I know this might have been brought up before, but I was wondering if anyone has attempted to translate the French language Young Indiana Jones novels?

If not, I would love to try translating the Phantom of the Klondike...

French Young Indiana Jones novels

I was wondering if anyone had a pdf or epub of the french exclusive Young Indiana Jones books:

Young Indiana Jones and the Phantom of the Klondike
Young Indiana Jones and the Radioactive Flask
Young Indiana Jones and the Metropolitain Violin
Young Indiana Jones and the Child Lama
Young Indiana Jones and the Specter of Venice
Young Indiana Jones and the Holy Meteorite

I know these are the english version of their titles but I was hoping to start my own translations.

I already have french versions of:
Young Indiana Jones and the Phantom of the Klondike
Young Indiana Jones and the Bermuda Triangle
(but someone in the group, from what i've read has already translated these...)

Thanks,
:hat:

Good idea !

I'm french and I'm looking for some of these novels... which are, in France, harder to find than novels published written by english authors !
That's why I had to read Young Indiana Jones and the Phantom of the Klondike in english (the version posted on this forum).

I have Indiana Jones Jr et l'ampoule radioactive (that you have translated by Young Indiana Jones and the radioactive flask) and Indiana Jones Jr et le spectre de Venise (and the specter of Venice), and I could copy them.

Anyway, if someone has a PDF of the french novels, in french, I'm interested too.

Hello Folks-

Just widely sharing these two are new -

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HAjztwrwWj4wN7FWBfqjYRoTN5taCnGN/view?usp=sharing - Read this one first. “Indiana Jones Jr. et l”Ampoule Radioactive” is titled “Young Indiana Jones and the Lost Vial of Dr. Curie” in English. It is set in November 1912.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NR7RLC849dez7fMoihBQ6AFMjHwcBFDG/view?usp=sharing - This is the next story in the Young Indiana Jones series chronologically. Indy spends over a month with the Inuits. “Young Indiana Jones and the Sacred Meteorite"

I will translate any of the remaining three as soon as I get them! Still looking for Metropolitan violin, Enfant Lama and Spectre of Venice.

Get them to me in any format and I will thank you in the text!

If you own a physical copy you can copy and paste the text from your phone camera now into a Google doc. Lets get the entire Indiana Jones story in English! These books went out of print decades ago, there is zero chance of getting in trouble for sharing.

The other thing I would mention is if anyone has the original English Young Indiana Jones books to share that would be greatly appreciated.

"Pirates Loot" has become especially hard to find.

thankfully most of them are on Internet Archives, but yeah I couldn't find Curse of the Ruby Cross or Pirate's Loot anywhere

Hello Thread!

Thanks to a really cool person I have finished my rough translation of Metropolitan Violin! Indy's first face-off with Al Capone coming soon.

Also I realized we should be putting out-of-print things on Archive.org. I put my first two translations there and will do the same when I am done Metropolitain Violin. Below are the permanent homes of the first two.

These things belong in a (digital) museum!

Pirates Loot is currently the most expensive to buy of the original English ones it seems!

I had to buy Ruby Cross, Indy does see supernatural events in that one. Basically I want to visualize the whole thing and it is tough to get the exact details.

The last French one I translated (Sacred Meteorite) is interesting because in the Indiana Jones timeline it is the first time he encounters supernatural as far as I know. That one is spring 1913, the first English one with supernatural is Ghostly riders, where he sees the ghostly riders on halloween 1913.

Little update on the translation of The Metropolitan Violin, the dog is definitely alive in this one. The dog shows up in the beginning of the story.

So strange that the dog is definitely dead in L’Radioactive Ampoule but alive in the next two books in the series which follow it chronologically. (I fixed it in the English translation so the dog is alive across all three)

i'm working on a little Chronology project for Indy, could you give me a small summary of the story for Ruby Cross (obviously with Spilers and all)? Since i can't get the actual book anywhere
