British scholar says African relic is the lost ark

HARARE, Zimbabwe ? Tudor Parfitt has spent years chasing a theory that a lost tribe of Jews wound up in Southern Africa. But his latest leap has landed him in a minefield.

The subject at hand is this British scholar's contention that the remains of a 700-year-old bowl-shaped relic which he tracked down in a Zimbabwe museum storeroom in 2007 could be a replica of the Ark of the Covenant that carried the Ten Commandments.

i know according to the bible the Ark just up and disapered one day. for an interesting persepective on the Ark, check out Bob Cornuke at the BASE institute. I am not saying that he is on track however, if infact his claims along with others he has worked with are true..... then you might find it as interesting as i did.

Bringing this thread up from the dead.

I'm still fascinated about the Ark of the Covenant, and like many great mysteries, would like to know where it really ended up. The BASE Institute article leaves alot of questions, but it's a good read nevertheless. Does anyone believe that the Ark may unfortunately be lost or destroyed?
