Very good.

You obviously put a lot of work into this and it shows. It looks way better than most live action fan films, I'll tell you that. Very creative.

This is your film, right?

Okay, this was a LOT of fun!!!! Great stuff. Are you expanding upon this? Will the real film be made, or is it just a mock trailer?

Very cool. Some really impressive (and large) dios there. Some really nice practical and digital effects.

More!!!

RA: Yeah I know a lot of rack focuses... it's one of the many limitations I've encountered filming with toys. Because with alot of these shots the figures are inanimate and I consciously always tried to have the camera moving or being in action in some way when the figures weren't. The scale is also a problem too because the damn things are so tiny and alot of the time the camera can't get into the small sets, so I have to increase the focal length, ergo the depth of field was almost always at a minimum, so the only way I could have Indy or some one looking at some thing or show off more of the sets was to rack. They were fun to do though. Hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm so rack happy and they are not as disorienting in the final longer product.

"The blue-screened bit on the truck was pretty groovy."
Thanks. I'm found of that bit myself. Makes me laugh everytime.

DocWhiskey: Yes sir, this is mine. Been filming it on and off maybe twice or three times a month for the past year.
--------------------------
Lance Quazar: Yes this is a trailer for an expanded film, it's not finished but currently clocks in at around 20 min. I don't know how I am going to release it, I was thinking episodic like the actually serials. Not sure.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed aspects of it. I'm enjoying making it.
The trailer makes me chuckle whenever I look at it.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. You're right, I wasn't thinking of limited depth of field. At least you found a creative way to cover that. I look forward to seeing more.

Dr. Gonzo, your film is pretty cool and funny. A lot of work's gone into it. The wire pulling the truck reminded me of the visible wire in Raiders (I think it was during the fight in the Raven). Simplifying the movements of the figures, rather going the whole laborious Harryhausen route, gives it the retro appeal that they went for with South Park.

It would be good to release the film in episodes, each ending with a cliffhanger.

Wow! Some amazing new images! I love the first and last images in particular. The cave in the last picture looks just amazing.

Extraordinary work with dios, lighting and photography.

My only criticism is the second still of the trucks. It's from such a high angle and the vehicles and figures so far away that you've reduced the scale. It feels like we're looking at toys on the ground instead of real life objects.

Fortunately, many of your other images don't have that problem. It's not always easy to get up close and personal when photographing toys and scale problems can crop up easily.

I really can't wait to see this!!

this is very cool. I enjoyed the shot with the dolly down to the spikes showing that Indy saved himself with the whip:whip: .... from spikes that are inches away(y) :whip:

Update

Hello folks.
I know it's been a while (like since March) so I wanted to let those of you who are even interested in my little action figure movie know that I am in the process of moving all the files onto a new computer and transferring them to the newest version of Final Cut Studio. I'll be getting back to finishing it this month...

I kind of like to leave something new every time I post, but since I am in the middle of transferring I don't have any clips or photos but I do have a screenplay peek... (Not that interesting)
anyway work will resume soon on making this the best damned possible Indiana Jones action figure movie that I can. I want to say thanks to folks like LanceQ and others who talk to me once and again to make sure I don't let the project die. It will be fun. I guarantee.
