Those who read the title and the say huh, didn't Indy do archaeology in his movies sorry to say no I don't count the scences in Raiders begining or the parts at Tanis to be real archaeology that was more grave robbing and the parts they had in the mummies series was not very authentic either. The one that I saw only on DVD since I don't think it was in the theatres was of all things the movie Out For a Kill starring Steven Seagal, heres the plot Renowned archeologist Robert Burns (Seagal) has unearthed precious artifacts in the ancient ruins of a eastern Chinese digg site with plans to ship them off for restoration. But the Chinese Tong have plans of there own. When Burns acidentally discovers the Tong are using the artifacts as containers to smuggle drugs out of China, he becomes marked for death (lol). Framed for the murder of his assistant, Burns is thrown in a Chinese prison, but is released and used in a America/Chinese government plot as bait to attract the Tong. Tahe trap is set and Burns takes on the Tong one man at a time in a blistering martial arts assualt, leading up to a final confrontation with the Emperor of the Tong.
Now I only mentioned modern IE after 1970 movies I know there was alot of movies and serials from the 30s to the 50s that had archeologist heroes in them and some showed them on actual diggs in the movies especially the Hammer Mummy series but with the exception of the Seagal flick I have not seen any others. They show him following actual archaeology protocal as the cheif man on the site he signs and dates the boxes that the artifacts are put in and shows him sealing them. I am a little bias because Burns character is like me Does Chinese archeology and specialises in in the Han dynasty like myself though I don't wear a hair weave lol and I am not as big as Steve either
