though you may receive the nickname 'Dr. Jones' before long depending on your colleagues, as I have discovered.
Hahaha! Thats what my science teacher called me this year! After getting to know me (he was a really cool teacher, although i only have a few days left of school year) he started calling me that. He showed the class really weird pictures all the time, and he always showed me them first, guess what he showed us today? A picture of a dead cat, stuffed and turned into a remote control helicopter... He was an amazing science teacher... Oh, and most of my friends call me Indiana now...
The other thing about wearing the hat and some Indy gear is the fact that they are real clothes. We can wear the hat, shirt, jacket, pants and match 'em with different items of clothing.
Do Star Trek, Star Wars, or Batman fans get to wear the costume so casually?
Ok guys! This thread is interesting. I recently got an replica of Indys Fedrora, and I never realise itīs bigger than the other hat I use (much like this one: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--6qLqkMIEV...%2526bear.jpg).
So, when I try out Indy Fedora, It felt a bit funny!Haver that happen to one of you guys? On screen the feels right with the rest of Indys clothes, but on your daily life what should you wear? And at the same time feels right and balanced?!
I know what you mean, but dont worry, the feeling will go away. The smaller fedoras are just really lightweight, so its not as noticeable, but its kinda like when you start to wear a watch (if you wear a watch), at first it feels funny, but you get used to it over time, after a while it feels funny not having it!
Cool! And what about the clothes? Itīs a hat that doesn't combine with most every day gear...I would to wear the Fedora, but will it merge with the rest? Dunno....

It just depends on what your wearing, it does go with alot of things though, you just have to look at yourself in the mirror. If your wearing a tanktop and swim shorts, those hats wont look very good, but if your in say... blue jeans and a polo shirt, it would look fine.
LOL! That looks cool! One question to FedoraStyle: That fedora is meant to be a replica of which Indy movie (Raiders or LC?) Itīs seems LC but if it is, shouldn't the pinch on the crown be more tighter?

It's actually a KOTCS replica. John Penman did the pinching for me.
I dunno if itīs the camera effect, but the Fedora seems to have a huge crown. The same thing happen to the photos I took this week. Iīve shown to a friend of mine, and we thought the was huge too. So, I took measurements and accordingly the crown should be about 13,97 cm (5.5 inch). And it is correct!
Dude just wear it with whatever who gives darn? I ordered the downtowner from Todds awhile back and wear it all the time. I have worn it with a dress jacket, I have work it with torn jeans, I have work it with a Slayer t-shirt. It doesn't matter if you like it than wear it.

Believe me, I do. And I'm one of the lucky ones that have never cared what anyone thinks. Just wondering what others wear them with.
What people are confortable with is certainly a matter of personal taste.
As a guy who is very "down with the Jones" ( and other cool guys like JohnWayne, Jake Lonergan, James West... ) I'm just not into the "costume" look. I do have Todd's jacket, shirt, a Stetson Temple, and recently a pair of Todd's Outdoorsman boots, I almost never wear any of these together.
The Jacket gets tons of compliments, and the Outdoorsman boots are cool with khaki's, jeans, whatever. When I venture out with my Stetson, I'll wear it with a navy or white button down shirt. Todd's Indy shirt is cool with jeans and I usually leave it hanging out. I also have a assortment of Columbia "outdoorsey" shirts that have a similar look. Often I'll wear my Aussie cowboy hat that reflects that adventure look but also the western, Snowy River vibe.
I just really think that whole vintage look is cool. Back then, men really had a style that was classy, cool and tough. In modern times, guys styles just seem so common with ballcaps, sweats, sports shirts etc.
I might suggest the Fedora Lounge website for those folks who are into the vintage thing. Those guys have researched this subject very well and have many cool photos.
I used to sport my Adventurebilt with 501 Levi's and a buttom-up shirt, but recently I've swapped the jeans for khakis. I feel that jeans are a little too casual for a quality hat. But IMO, jeans and a t-shirt look goofy with a wide brimmed fedora.
