"Raiders" Classic Featurette DVD

The special, pre-order DVD that came free with the DVD Boxed Set
featured a "Raiders" Classic Featurette, apparently only 10-15 mins.
I know this offer was exclusive to Future Shop in Canada and Best Buy
the States (anywhere else?) but I only found out about it on the
day of release (Oct 21) when I showed up at Future Shop and
couldn't get one!

Is there anyone out there who could provide some details as
to what this "featurette" contains? Does anyone have an extra?

I have the extra dvd from Best Buy and, in truth, you should be too concerned about not getting it. Sure, it's a nice little bonus, but it's nothing so great that you have to have it. For the most part if you watch the 4th disc that comes with the set then you have seen the "Best Buy Disc." OK, so it might have some different elements or different clips, but the idea is still the same. Again, don't worry about not having it. You're not really missing anything. (That being said, I'm still glad I got there early enough to get one!!)

If you have seen The Making of Raiders and Great Movie Stunts video, then you have seen the entire featurette DVD. It is basically a much shorter version of that video.

Thanks for the replies, guys. The main thing I've always wondered about is:

- Was it a promo reel included as part of media press-kits in '81?
OR
- Was it specifically edited for the Extra DVD release?

Does the DVD have it's own matching box or is it one of those
mini, cardboard jackets? I only have a small picture of the disc
and have never seen a good picture of the artwork.

The disc has no cover, it came in a platic see through snap case.

The featurette was made in 1981 and seems as if it is an appetizer to the Making of Raiders and Great Movie Stunts video. It is done in the same style and uses the same type of credits, music, etc. as in the video. It was not specifically made for the DVD release.

Maybe this link will give you a better look at the disc:

Missing the opportunity to get this DVD was the critical
moment that eventually led me to subscribe to The Raven...
So, I really do appreciate the info.

I remember "Making of..." airing on either ABC or NBC and
"Great Movie Stunts" being shown on PBS later that year.

O.K. Two last, anal, questions:
1-Are there any animated menus for the Classic Featurette?
2-Is the "plastic see-through snap case" the same size as the
Boxed Set? (Something tells me, "No").

Just curious...how did missing out on the DVD lead you to joining The Raven?

Answer to part 2...the case is not the same size as the boxed set. It's basically a square case that's slightly larger than the disc (think of a cup/mug on a coaster).

Because it made me realize that I was "out of the Indy-loop".
Things were cooking and I never noticed. I was blind but now I see... :D

Well, you came to the right place. Hey, I noticed that you're from Montreal. Are you a fan of the Habs?

Does anyone have the custom DVD sleeve/cover that someone did when this was released? I have a crappy version of it printed out, and I recently bought a much better printer and wanted to reprint.

I tried to search for it, but can't find it anywhere.
