There is a long video with a few seconds of footage which contain no spoilers, but beware, there are some spoilers in the article on the same page:

I am very excited for this film. Quantum of Solace was one of the short stories Ian Flemming wrote in the James Bond novel 'For your eyes only' and one of the few to not be used as a film ... until now.

the short story was a boring dinner party between bond, the governer of nassau and a man and his wife, bond makes a judgement about them after they leave and the governer tells him a story to prove him wrong, the story seems to do 2 things, it shows how bond interacts with real life and is not always on a mission and it shows how he is judgemental. Now I can imagine 3 reasons why they would use Quantum of Solace as a title:

A) Bond will be shown as judgemental, this I sort of doubt\
B) Quamtum (meaning an amount of) of Solace (confort, relief), aka an amount of comfort or relief. I can see this being so because bond is going after <table><tr><td bgcolor=black><font color="black" size="2">the people who blackmailed vesper in the last film, and 'an amount of relief/comfort' wuold imply that bond finds comfort in his vengence against this enemy.</font></td></tr></table> Thus this seems very likely
C) The Producers just wanted to use an origonal flemming title again and had no idea what it means, this is perhaps the most likely scenario :D

I really liked Casino Royale alot and I am very exited about this film, as you can tell by my user name, I love bond films as much as indy ones. Indy 4 and Bond 22 are the 2 films I am most looking forward to in 2008

Roger Moore? Really? I would cast Roger if I wanted to do a show about a lavish, in the closet, male nanny. He never, ever struck me as Bond. Not only did he do an array of the worst Bonds, (Man w/ Golden Gun, Moonraker, Octo*****, AVTAK) But his reign as Bond went WAAAAAAAAAY too long. He was like James Bond's geriatric grandpa running around fighting Chris Walken? Sorry but most of his Bond's i just found plain awful.

Connery, now theres your Bond. Dr. No, From Russia w/ Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball are solid Bond movies. Classic Bond and he too went past his prime w/ YOLT (I won't count Nvr Say Nvr Again.)

Then theres Craig. I LOVE HIM. Hes just what the series needed after Pierce's RETARDED antics in Ice palaces w/ Catwoman.

Craig looks like he could actualy collapse my windpipe w/ one quick karate chop and be back at the baccarat table sipping a martini 10 secs later. He fits the role very well, which is that of a pysical one.

Spies arn't just suave and neat looking, they need to be able to get the job done, and to me Craig would level Moore anyday of the week.

My favorite tho? Dalton, Timothy Dalton. He's the perfect balance of someone who could pull off the pysical and the debonair. I love The Living Daylights. Its IMO the best Bond movie that actualy feels like a real spy situation. Lots of espionage and confusion and not totaly insane invisble cars or stealth boats.

All in all I've been a Bond fan longer then i care to remember and I say the new kid on the block is ok with me.

Oh and heres something to consider. Daniel isnt the Bond we all know and love yet. CR was his origin story, his first real mission, he was naive and learned alot. Wait and see, he'll nail Bond in 22.

I consider this to be big enough news to warrant a thread of its own.

Fair enough, not my call anyway. I think its an alright title, and i like the idea of it being a short story title, but its not perfect. Sounds Sci-Fi-y.

Let's not lose our heads and refer to Halle Berry as Catwoman. Surely EVERY other actress who has played her has done better. And I'm including the campy Julie Newmarr and Eartha Kitt versions.

Its the first Bond film with TWO words in its title half the American population won't understand.

I remember seeing "Road to.....Per-mu-da-dition-what?" there once!

I don't. Besides, the title's already being discussed in the original. Merged.

If there's a thread that fits, use that, don't open a new one. Period.

Official Quantum of Solace plot synopsis:
Official Synopsis
QUANTUM OF SOLACE continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (DANIEL CRAIG) in CASINO ROYALE. Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (JUDI DENCH) interrogate Mr White (JESPER CHRISTENSEN) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (OLGA KURYLENKO), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (MATHIEU AMALRIC), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (JOAQUIN COSIO). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organisation.

It doesn't exactly roll of the tongue. Hey, in the U.S. they can call it A Li'l Bit Of Comfort.

I'm not even close to be part of the "Americans are dumb," crowd, but this made me chuckle. It's good and folksy.

The film began filming less than a month ago and we already know a line of dialogue:

"You're going to get a phone call in a minute, would you mind telling them I'm headed to Cairo?" :D
