Lack of News

No New info in nearly a week!!! :( They are really keeping things tight during production, there must be scripts all over the place by now, you think one scumbag in the crew would have stolen one by now to sell to the tabloids.

Maybe they are signing the scripts in and out after each scene and the actors only get to see the script a scene at a time before they film it in no particular order of course so they can't piece things together.

Anyone know anything new?

I think this is probably the tightest control on a movie story I have ever seen! Any body got any thoughts on this?

i'm about to combust from the lack of news.

i mean, it's great that the production is so tight in this day and age...

but the intravenous drip is on empty.

i'd be happy with more coffee and juice break pictures.

Yes! I'll make an official request:

Lucasfilm Ltd and Paramount Pictures are kindly invited to publish as soon as possible some additional information, eventually weekly updated, about the production of the next Indiana Jones movies.

The information should possibly consist in:

a) photos from the set, not necessarily revealing (too many) details on the plot;
b) details on the plot! :D
c) stories and news about how the production is going.

In exchange the above-named subject will receive a weekly supply of gratitude from their fans and film-lovers.

Any addenda to this request can be freely compiled by the partecipating to this forum, so it is gladly expected the incoming addition of letters d), e), f) and so on.

Best Regards.

It's kinda impressive how well they're succeeding in keepin things under wraps.
I didn't think they would be able to pull that off

glad

Considering I can't restrain myself from reading any everything around here, I'm kind of glad. If they leak too much, i'll know too much and that wont be good

Yeah, I wanted to be a spolier free kind of guy, but I can't keep my hands off new info, spoilerish or not.

The news, whether official or less reliable, has been coming in waves since the movie was announced in late December. We're just at a trough again.

The announcement from Comic-Con was pretty big in my opinion, so Lucasfilm's probably just keeping its cards close so that there will be more surprises as time goes on. With any luck, the official website will be updated more frequently as the months to May 2008 trickle away.

I would like to see more set photos and not as many spoilers , if we get new spoilers every week (which i know we wont)then we'll know the whole movie before it even comes out,i'll lay off the spoilers for a while. even though it'll make me crazy.

Movie doesn't even come out till next year. You all were expecting a heap of news, pictures, and spoilers every week until the release?

Actually ... yes! :p

No, just kidding! The thruth is that I'm sure that Indy movies are not "whodunnit" or thrillers that need everything to be hidden before the exit of the movie. So to have some new photo from the set and some curiosity (not much on the plot as on how things are going during the days of production...) it's a good instrument to wait better... since we MUST wait.

I mean, I'd really like to collect some impressions from the actors (that happened in the Comic-con video), from the operators... I'd like to know what's thinking John Williams about the soundtrack, and I'd like to know more on the settings (the New Haven shootings haven't spoiled very much but it has been funny to see how they changed the town, building the set).

No spoiler at all was the little kit of photos from Bedford station, but it was so indysh that it was enjoyable... Besides, when the film we'll be out from a while we could say we've followed its birth step by step... I was a kid when they shot the first movies and I regret having lost all the production phase... now (we've got internet and)we're grown up enough to enjoy those "live backstage"... it's a way more to show affection to a character that is part of our youth.:whip:

NEWS AT LAST!

-----------------------------------------------------

Karen Allen revives her 'Indiana Jones' role
By Ellen G. Lahr, Berkshire Eagle Staff

Monday, August 06

MONTEREY — Karen Allen has lately been stealing off to an undisclosed location for secret stunts and a plot line that is being tightly guarded. Although she can hardly say a word about the details, the actor and Monterey resident is "having a blast" in reviving the role of Marion Ravenwood, the love-and-adventure interest of Indiana Jones, kept alive aptly by Harrison Ford, for more than two decades.

The fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" Hollywood series, a film by Steven Spielberg, is set for release in the spring of 2008, Allen said.

Allen, a veteran of 35 films, including "Animal House," "A Perfect Storm" and "Starman," now owns Karen Allen Fiber Arts, a Great Barrington business that produces and sells cashmere knitwear and accessories. She keeps in the movie business as her life permits.

In July, she was on location — she can't say where — for three weeks. She will return — she can't say where — in two weeks for a longer stint, through October.

Meanwhile, she has been getting buffed up in the gym with daily workouts.

"You want to get in shape for all kinds of reasons: You want to look good, and it's physically demanding, and you need stamina and energy," said Allen, 55, who has practiced yoga for years. "I put my iPod on and boogie."

The fourth "Indiana Jones" movie will feature actors Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett and John Hurt, to name a few.

Allen said she is consistently surprised at new generations of moviegoers who recognize her on the street as the "Animal House" co-star, or even as the actress in "Starman." Both have been revived by cable television and on DVD.

Asked about her new/old role as Marion Ravenwood (whose bar, "The Raven," burned down in a prior episode), she still can't comment much.

"It's an action-adventure role, because that's really the nature of these films. They are shot-out-of-a-cannon kinds of films — there is a lot going on from the moment it starts until the moment it ends," she said.

New "Indiana Jones" movies are likely to have a following because the series has had steady exposure over the years on television.

Allen said her fiber arts store, on Railroad Street in Great Barrington, will be in good hands while she is gone, and she has already filled orders for fall and winter.

Meanwhile, movie-fan bloggers are excited that Marion Ravenwood is back.

"Of all the Indy girls, she was my favorite," writes the author of www.theknightshift.blogspot.com. "Maybe we'll get to see that she and Indy got together after all."

And a www.rottentomatoes.com blogger is pleased that a leading actress who is closer to Harrison Ford's age has been invited back.

I can only second that.
While I also feel the news-withdrawal kicking in (indeed only a few days after we've all been getting excited about the latest footage - our collective fan memory works with interesting time reception), I appreciate "huge" (like...10 days huge) gaps because it makes the next 20 seconds of whatever footage appearing on the official site even more precious.

Resisting the demand to leak plot information is the best thing the publicists can do, in my mind. And I thank them for that!
The next step in the program to satisfy me will be to deliver a perfect trailer that doesn't give anything away. Then I'll just have to avoid the tv-spots and film clips that will feature key entertaining scenes... and I'll be ready to see if this film will be any good.

The set is closed...really, really closed. No one gets near it without some kind of ID or escort. Nothing unauthorized goes in, and without a doubt nothing unauthorized goes out. Camera phones are checked for pictures, digital cameras are outright banned, and hand written notes are forbidden.
