Any James Bond / 007 fans around here?

Hello
Any fans of the 007 franchise around these parts?

Which actor's portrayal of Bond did you like best?
Which are your particularly favourite Bond film/s?
What did you think of Casino Royale?
Are you interested in Bond 22? (The next film)

I grew up watching Bond films. Sean Connery will always be the definitive Bond for me, although I always enjoyed seeing Roger Moore, and I feel Timothy Dalton had a unique portrayal of Bond that was more intense and darker than the other actors.

I feel Daniel Craig has done very well in the role. The more I watch "Casino Royale", the more excited I am about the next film. He truly does seem to have a great balance of the characteristics of the previous actors' portrayals of Bond. He's alot more down to earth, much more natural, doesn't overdo the humour yet knows how to fit it appropriately; and he delivers some solid action scenes.

Roger Moore is James Bond. Octopu$$y (1983), is my favourite of the entire series. Infact, here's a countdown of my favourites...

1/ Octopu$$y
2/ Moonraker
3/ OHMSS
4/ Diamonds Are Forever
5/ For Your Eyes Only

I could go on, but I wont. :hat:

EDIT: I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'VE EDITED THAT OUT.

Daniel Craig. I also like Connery and Brosnan. Dalton's ok but didn't like that one movie I saw him in; not a fan of Moore or any of his films I've seen; never saw Lazenby in OHMSS.

Which are your particularly favourite Bond film/s?
Dr No, Goldfinger, Goldeneye, and Casino Royale are my favorites that I can watch straight through multiple times. Every other one is more or less if nothings on TV and they're running a marathon, I can play it in the background or something.

What did you think of Casino Royale?
Loved it.

Are you interested in Bond 22? (The next film)
Yes. I hope it's the same tone as CR and doesn't get goofy already.

Guess you just have to use word "kitty" then.

Did you see the film Finn? Her character is called Octo***** because her father used to nickname her that when she was a child. There's nothing sexual about it. Naturally Bond raised his eyebrows when he hear's this, but thats the only time there's any reference to its potential other meaning.

Naturally, the audience finds the double entendre funny, which is of course intentional, but you can't accuse the film-makers of being tasteless as its the AUDIENCE that made that connection.

I might add that the film is only PG, with that title and the frequent use of the word in the film, and this is a PG-13 site, so I can't think of any reason why you should feel the need to edit it out.

Anyway, Sean Connery and Roger Moore are my favourite Bonds. From Russia With Love and Goldfinger are my favourite Bond movies.

Please, read my post again. I solely humorously commented mr. gruber's willingness to discuss our feline friends. My message was not the slightest excuse to have half of the title of this particular movie censored away. It's a hindrance in my opinion as well. What you see is automatic swear word censoring at play and I've nothing to do with that.

Yes, I've seen the film. Your post... good effort, but very little gain.

I wonder if the 1961 film Fanny will show up.

Listen, I know it may be an embarassing problem not getting it up, but honestly dude, we're not interested. See a doctor, they can write you a prescription for some blue pills.

I've been a Bond fan since I was a little kid. A happy day for me was when I was finally able to purchase all the films on DVD in 2006's Ultimate Edition box sets. Finally, I have all of them together from the same release.

My favorite Bond actors in order are Timothy Dalton, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore and George Lazenby. Lazenby often gets short changed, but I think he did a good job all things considered and could have easily made the role his own if he had lasted more than one film. Moore made some stinkers, but the good ones he did far outweigh the bad ones. Brosnan was always good, but wound up in mostly stinkers as well. Connery is the original and still a tough act to follow, but Dalton is my favorite because he just played Bond the way he was written. Another one who gets short changed but was dynamite in the role.

My top three favorite Bond films are THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS, GOLDENEYE, and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, though I love all of the movies up to GOLDENEYE. I don't really care for TOMORROW NEVER DIES or THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, and I still haven't seen DIE ANOTHER DAY yet. Though I'll get to it eventually because I plan to watch the entire Ultimate Edition sets in order just for fun.

As for CASINO ROYALE, I thought the action sequences were top notch, but overall it was ruined for me by Daniel Craig. I did not like him at all as Bond. I still say he's better suited to play a Bond villain than Bond himself. So no, I'm not particularly looking forward to BOND 22, and I fear my days of enjoying Bond are over, at least until Craig eventually leaves and another actor takes over.

Well maybe you'll enjoy Bond 22 moreas it will be more recognisably a Bond film than Casino Royale was (since that was an origin story), and also because Bond himself will be more recognisably Bond (since, again, the previous film was an origin story).

I don't know. For me, it all hinges on the actor playing Bond, and I just didn't like Daniel Craig. I suppose he could still find a way to shine and perhaps win me over to his version, but it's gonna be tough. If ads for BOND 22 look really good, I may see it to give him a second chance.

I don't like the fact that he's a very unlikeable Bond. All the other actors played Bond so that he's likeable and would probably be cool to be around, but the script for Casino Royale film and Craig's performance portrayed him as an emotionally closed-off, cold-blooded sociopath.

Thanks for your comments.
I apologise, I didn't realise there was a Bond 22 thread here, I looked in the wrong area.

At the moment, from what I've read around, the general indication is that Bond 23 might be Daniel's last film before he seriously starts to consider whether to continue with the series or if he will leave. I think a big part in that is because he said at some point in the near future he wants to spend more time with his growing family, and they want to have more kids or something.

He's a proper actor with prospects beyond Bond, unlike any of the previous actors who played him, so I find it unlikely he'll do a fourth.

Heck yes!

Sean Connery is and always will be my favorite Bond. I just like the way he portrays the character more than any other. The charisma he possesses, I guess you could say.

My favorite Bond films are ALL the ones that Sean was in... Casino Royale and Goldeneye, even though I didn't much like Pierce Brosnan in the role. He certainly looked like James Bond though.

Casino Royale was AWESOME!! Best Bond in years in my opinion. This of course has me very very interested in Bond 22, which I hope is even better.

... and I also really liked Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64. lol. :p
