Okay so I got this from http://www.harrisonfordweb.com/indianajones4/.

now, they claim this is legit, but can it? I mean, this thing looks totally generic. I mean, the photos on this so called "official dvd" are all the same ol' photos we've seen circulated. Anyone could have just made this thing.

what do you guys think??? Real or Not???

By The Way, There is ofcourse the movie synopsis that comes along with this "Official DVD"... The only thing that seems close enough as a spoiler is in reference to Mutt's relationship to Indy. Well, come on people, we already have the idea of Mutt's relationship, so I'll just say it for the sake of mentioning what the German Synopsis reads...

"...With his right hand Mac and his son Mutt he is on the trail of a mysterious crystal skull."

Here's the entire thing,
"[There have been a few years since the last archaeological adventure: when Indiana Jones came into the Sahara - among other places - looking for the Holy Grail. Unexpectedly he is now up against a new challenge: one that takes the passionate adventurer to South America. With his right hand Mac and his son Mutt he is on the trail of a mysterious crystal skull. So are unfortunately also Soviet agents. ]"

If this is The REAL synopsis for the Official DVD...It's very weak if you ask me. This just adds to the speculation that this is completely bogus...

Looks like one of those DVD covers people make to replace the ones on their real DVD cases. If you search Google Images for "Indiana Jones DVD Covers", you'll get the same kind of stuff. Besides, do you really think the final DVD cover will have the teaser poster on it?

coverparadies.to is filled with such "genuine" German DVD covers. They often come with "special features" listed - usually some two months before the particular film even makes it into US cinemas, not to mention European ones.

Seeing how every photo/pic on the case is taken from the only one's released thus far...this is sad...

Ummmm.....seeing as every image is one that has already been released, what do you think? Its a little convenient, no?

Not to mention it looks amateur, and has the teaser poster rather than the final poster on the cover.

Too bad... There seem to be no bonus features on the DVD... :p

Honestly, that cover looks as fake as Lolo Ferrari's... eyelashes.

Funny, that. Its almost as if its fake and the maker was too much of an amateur to come up with fake special features.

I like the 96 minutes bit. :) Whoever designed it must not have been up to the challenge of researching the typical running time for these flicks.

Edit: also, the aspect ratio is inconsistent with the first three films-- 1.85:1 vs 2.35:1. I assume this was intended to be a joke.

Probably not, the guy was too lazy or stupid to find out the right one.

Also the barcode ends with 22052008 (as in the release date).

On a serious note... knowing a bit about home entertainment schedules, it's highly unlikely there would already be key art for a German DVD release of a movie which hasn't even opened theatrically yet. They don't work that far out in advance. And as others have noted, VERY unlikely that key are would be based 100% on a teaser poster.

Its a bit too much of a coincidence that it only uses images already released...

Not to mention the bad flames, barcode (22052008), 96 minute running time, 16+ rating and lack of special features.
