Forget the CA CC Demille find, this is AWESOME

...Another extremely interesting discovery has been made in Egypt.

During the repair of a road in the Egyptian city of Luxor, construction workers discovered what seems to be a completely new statue of a Sphinx located beneath the surface, said the head of the Antiquities Department, Mohamed Abdel Aziz. According to Youm7, the road beneath which the Sphinx statue was discovered connects the Karnak and Luxor temples...

First a sarcophagus, then a blood moon, then the sky turns to ash in CA,

Don't book your flight just yet.
Here's a link to the article in the Sun (UK):

The article is fact-poor, and the photos from the Ministry of Antiquities are vague so far. Since it was found on the road between Karnak and Luxor, it's doubtful that it's older than New Kingdom, maybe 1200 BCE or thereabouts.
Since the spokesperson talks about lifting it eventually, it may not be all that big. OTOH, that raises the possibility that there are more nearby.
