The Flying Wing's Propellers

Does anyone know how the propeller blades were created on the flying wing in Raiders?

I?ve always wondered what they used to create the illusion of a spinning prop that wouldn?t endanger the actors.

It may have been a real spining blade, but just all shot in a way that it was saftey out. They wouldn't have the blade spinning when they weren't rolling for safety reasons also.
