Does "Young Indy" give the date of Indy starting college. Seems like he was going to college after the episode with Wyatt Earp, when he was working as a stunt man. By the time line established, it looks like Indy got his entire college career finished in 5 years. I mean I know the guy is brilliant but wow.

According to this (if the later, post-education portions are even that accurate - the entire area surrounding WWII seems tricky to me), he only attended two different universities.

Please help me with this timeline and tell me what specific dates seem strange.

My sources are:
the Indiana Jones movies
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
The Ultimate guide

Sometimes they're not very helpful on filling in the gaps so I end up trying to figure it out for myself. For example, according to The Ultimate Guide, the last time Indy and Marion were together, before Mutt was born,it was in Oct.1936,but Mutt was born in July 1938.It obviously only takes 9 months for a child in the womb. So,that part confuses me a little bit.

This whole bit. Joined WWII? What's the evidence for joining the OSS in 1939? I presume the 1939 at Barnett is Fate of Atlantis-based, which I'm fine with.

And he stopped being at the O.S.S. while the war was still on, in '43? It sounded like from some of the Indy/Mac dialogue that there were still in the service even once the war was over. (They were "spying on the Reds.")

This thread may prove worthwhile.

Do you have The Ultimate Guide? It has a timeline in it and it says, that Indy joined WWII in Dec.1939.

Fantastic work AnnieJones. I was just wondering though, has it been referenced anywhere as to why Indy switches back and forth between Barnett and Marshall? Brody is only at Marshall right?

So Indy's Ph.D is from the Sorbonne, not Chicago, right? And is his Ph.D in archaeology or linguistics?

I don't know?Indy fans say different things on that subject.
Here's what I think(but don't quote me on this because I'm just guessing and my guess could be wrong);Indy's Ph.D is from studying archaeology at the University of Chicago.

In the references I have,no it doesn't explain why he switches back and forth. But it does say about Princeton, according to The Ultimate Guide(you should get one if you don't already have one,it is,at times, somewhat helpful)in 1933 Indy goes on sabbatical from Princeton to help US federal agents recover the stolen Voynich Manuscript, prompting a doomed affair with modern-day druid,Alecia Dunstin.

The 3 things I found interesting about Brody is in the summer of 1913 Indy met Marcus Brody and Sallah,in the Spring of 1929 Indy assists Marcus in the search for Marcus's missing brother-in-law,and in 1939 Marcus became Dean of Students at Marshall College.

Just letting you know that the reason that I say he studied archaeology at Sorbonne,is because The Ultimate Guide said this:

May 1922 Indy is unknowingly drawn into a plot to topple King Constantine of Greece, engineered by Indy's Sorbonne archaeology professor,Dorian Belecamus.

June 1922 Indy graduates from the University of Chicago.

July 1922 Indy takes postgraduate courses in linguistics at the Sorbonne.

Yes, he was teaching at Barnett in the fall of '37 (see "Arms of Gold") so you may not need to rewrite your story.:)

The timeline in "Ultimate Guide" is loaded with errors! Even the dates you quoted don't jive. How can Indy be at Sorbonne before he graduates from U. of C.? (Didn't anyone even proof-read the thing before it was published?) Here's the real deal:

Chronicles:
1919-192?, University of Chicago, Archaeology

Bantam:
191?-1920, University of Chicago,
1920-1925, University of Paris (La Sorbonne), Linguistics, PhD

Indy also worked part-time in the archaeology lab at Sorbonne and started teaching in London for the summer semester of 1925. The 1922 Ur dig is mentioned in "Arms of Gold" but where are you getting that Belloq was there?

Nice going, Annie. I'll go over your list some more and help out with other details. In the meantime, this thread my also interest you: Indy's College Life
