When Someone You Love Leaves...

A friend of mine accidentally threw a dart into his girlfriend's head.

I was there. I knew something bad was gonna happen. It was in the atmosphere.

It later came out that she'd been cheating on him. Gave him a case of the nasties, too. They broke up.

I think the dart incident was preemptive karma.

I'm not sure which one hurt more, Man, yours or theirs. But I know which one's funnier.

Bullseye! You just struck the funny bone with that one, G. (y)

Perhaps I have been cheated on in the past. Hmmmm. Time to track down my exes and offer them a good ol' game of truth or dart...;)

There are things to enjoy about being single too. A little while from now, this may be seen as a good thing.

Very true! Also it's worth saying that love is something that is shared, that's why it's called being in love with someone. Not to poo-poo on your feelings, but since wasn't completely reciprocal then it wasn't the real thing anyway. The real deal is out there, and now you're just that much closer to finding that person.

Both salient points, Violet and Bro, yet the outsider's perspective is that bit more rational...and right, of course. Reminds of when a friend of mine and myself were in two similar, dysfunctional relationships. We gave each other the exact same advice, yet we never heeded it ourselves.

6 days is so Hollywood. Pale Horse waited 9 days to call his chick back. Wound up marrying her. Sired a stud, too.

Surely every Ravener has had a similar experience? It's a pretty universal malady, guys and gals...
No, not really (when love was involved). Anyway, don't fret, Man. Like the old saying goes, there are a MILLION fish in the sea!

There, who said this matchmaking lark was difficult?:p
From "Fiddler on the Roof":

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match
Find me a find
Catch me a catch
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Look through your book
And make me a perfect match!

The Man and TheMutt92 should get together...a match made in heaven!:p

A long time ago, a friend of mine puked on his girlfriend. Like you, I was there when it happened and it wasn't pretty. Game over!

P.S. Sharkey's pet died recently. So say a prayer for him, too.

Isn't matchmaking more of a girl's thing, Monty? Not that I'm implying anything...

In any case, such a thread may not be a bad idea, Chicky- these kind of threads do pop up once in a while here and I've even had fellow Raveners ask for my advice in the past. And yet, this place is dude central....

When it's as simple as I make it, even a yellow-bellied marmot could do it!

First he was bored and lonely,

Then his mate pointed her out to him,

They hit it off,

And now they have kids,

It's not gay if you keep your pants on.
