Hey, Phil. No need to fire up your scanner immediately but soon enough. I translated the text but haven't fixed all the remaining pages yet. You can hold off for a little while...Looking forward to see if Indy ever puts on his hat!

Here's 2 more. Seemed like a good place to leave off...

P.S. I looked into the clock-face saying, "Vulnerant omnes, ultima necat" which, as Indy says, means "All wound, the last kills". The "All" is referring to "hours" so "All hours wound..."

This is of interest to me considering the only term on clockfaces that I'm familiar with is Tempis fugit. You learn something new everyday.

Things are getting kind of stale in Indy Land so here's the next batch for starving fans. (Phil, I have 3 more to go and after those are done you'll have to fire up your scanner.)

21 pages into the story and he still hasn't worn his hat!

How many French comics were there, with titles? Are they hard to find in France? I'm headed there in 3 weeks and thought I'd look them up.

Hey, dd! Indyclone is right. There are only 3.

I've only been to 1 comic book store in Paris and it didn't have any old stuff but a good place to search would be the street vendors that line the south bank of the river Seine near Notre Dame Cathedral. There are hundreds of them and most sell old books, etc. I found a couple of 1970s French "Planet of the Apes" comics at one stand a few years ago so you might have some luck there. (Not sure if you're going to Paris and I'm also not sure if the vendors are open every day of the week.) Le Saboteur might be able to give you some other suggestions.

Have a look at these threads to see what the covers for the other 2 look like.

Indiana Jones et le Secret de la Pyramide
Indiana Jones et la Cité de la Foudre (Look at post #11 for the correct cover. Post #1 is the Canadian version.)

Have a great trip!

P.S. As mentioned a few posts back, I have 3 more pages left to finish and then I'll need a new batch of scans to continue...(Hi, Phil!)

There was a fourth title, Bedouins de la Mer, but as far as I can tell it was never published.

Considering the Indy Dinner Plate is rather empty at the moment, here's a bone to chew on...

Yeah, forgot about that one and all accounts suggest it never saw the light of day. (If it had, I'm sure DIrishB would have found it!)

Been busy lately, but I hope to find time to fire up my scanner sometime this weekend. It's a holiday weekend here in the US, but I often find myself busier than usual when I have time off.

Hi, Phil. Don't worry, there's no rush. In the meantime, I'm going to revisit "Secret de la Pyramide" and modify all the pages accordingly.

One burning question, though: In the remaining pages of "Grimoire Maudit", does Indy ever wear his hat?

I just sent a few more pages on their way to you. I'm enjoying this as much as anyone. I have the book, but I can't read it.

No hat, no satchel, no leather jacket (at least, not his usual one). If this was a video game, people would be very upset!

Got the next 3 pages! Awesome. Will start on them soon enough. Thanks, Phil.

As for Indy not looking like Indy: Even though the Canadian editions were give-aways at a chain of gas stations, I'm wondering if it might be part of the reason they didn't include this title.

It's been 5 months since the last few pages were posted. About 4 months ago, Junior (Phil) sent me 3 more pages and I only recently got around to translating them so here they are below. Just yesterday, he also sent me all the remaining pages so we're good to go for the rest of the comic! Hats off to the generous, JuniorJones (Phil)!)

@Lao_Che (Leland Chee): Are you reading this? I hope so...

To be continued...

Thanks, but remember I'm the Junior Jones with a space. JuniorJones is another guy, but he's cool, too.

Oops! I'm sorry, Phil. I always try hard to make that distinction but screwed up this time! So...

Hats off to the generous Junior Jones (Phil) for providing the pages of this RARE Indy tale!

For the JuniorJones without the space: Yes, I just remembered that you sent me some sample pages and never got back to you about that! They look great. (Would like to talk about it a bit so I'll send you an e-mail or we can talk in the Secret de la Pyramide thread.)

I'm in a translating mood so expect the next 3 "Grimoire" pages to be posted soon!
