Actually, David Niven *was* in the business of losing: In the 1936 version of , "The Charge of the Light Brigade"! (A handful lived but the charge was an imperial disaster.:eek:)

Easily defeated by, "They Died With Their Boots On"! (Not the most accurate portrayal of events but stlll a winner.)
