Okay, back on topic:
Has anybody subscribed to the (conspiracy?) theory that the health care industry is intentioally keeping us ill? Not my belief, but an interesting read. For one example,
Most diseases are caused by a nutritional deficiency. Doctors know by exerimentation that depriving one of specific minerals, vitamins and amino acids produces certain diseases or symptoms. Using simple backward logic, wouldn't it be advisable to ensure we all get all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids we need to prevent these diseases from occuring or at least slow them down?
A "balanced" diet will not help as much as you think since the soil is deprived of the minerals. We take out 90 different elements and fertilize with 3. NPK (nitrogen, phosphate and potassium). What about iron, calcium, magnesium, copper, the essential faty acids, etc. How about the other 87? The government knew this in 1936 - which even makes this Indy-related, I guess .
What if you have heart conditions that could have been reduced or cured by a few cents worth of selenium each day, for example. Your doctor chooses to allow you to suffer and continue paying to see him and run tests so you finally have to get a heart transplant. The blood and heart are free from a donor yet you will pay over $200,000 for the heart alone. Doctors do not drive Ford Escorts and AMC Pacers. They drive Mercedes Benz' and other high-cost vehicles. Nice houses as well.
Are we being kept in the dark on purpose to recoupe the costs that it took to put them through medical school and maintain the 'doctor's lifestyle?' Are they stringing the public along to an early death so they can have a more materialistic life?
