Customizing Indy Figures

Thinking about it now, I'm gonna copy Lukes Gestapo agent lol. I'm gonna call him Boycie (after a character in an English comedy Only fools and horses).
He looks just like him lol!

How do you take the torso off an action figure? I am trying to make a custom, but i can not get the torso because it won't come off.:(

Well, it depends. Most recent figures seem to have the upper torso made from a rubbery material, so the boil and pop approach should be your best option.

However, some of the older figures (or simply the ones that are not built the same way as Hasbro's), may have hard plastic torsos, sonic welded at the sides.

In this cases you need to use a very sharp, resistant blade to try and pry open the torso pieces. Work carefully and slowly to avoid injury to you or your figure.

Man, this is going to be the basis for so many Indy customs if it ever sees a single-carded general release when the movie line hits !

Anyone going to the 'Con that can hook me up ?

How cool. Gotcha, Inky. Will make sure you get a couple.

Dude, if you could, I would make sure you were well rewarded.

I can see some elements of Toht/Brody/Donovan in there, but I assume this one wasn't repurposed from the Indy line. The crotch and legs are definately Joe construction (I can see screws in the thighs), but the upper body...who knows what partial sculpts survived the Indy prototype process.

I'm really hoping that this one is in the standard movie line, both to score several for custom fodder and to see if the anti-Marcus arguement "guys in suits will pegwarm" will actually come true.

Yeah, I saw pics of this the other day! Seriously, I may go just to get this figure!!!! Love it!!!

I do hope they release a similar version to stores, even if it has a different color scheme.

But this guy is perfect for Indy. The legs below the knee look almost exactly like Toht/Cobra Commander.

We need more guys in suits!!!!

This guy could be Marcus, Kazim, Indy...countless original characters. Awesome fodder!

Can't wait to see more from this line! Would love it if they make a General Hawk (Dennis Quaid) in general's uniform.....the mind reels at the possibilities.

Boy, it sure is amazing that Hasbro can make a profit on limited convention figures that are never released to retail (cough, cough Unreleased Final Five Raiders figs!!!......)

Well said! There is a LOT of crap produced that there is simply no demand for. A few Entertainment Earth Star Wars exclusives come to mind.

Too bad he doesn't come complete with the Tardis.

I think this is my best sanding ever. Apart from a tiny bit under the ponytail, there's no sculpting at all. I'll do a side by side with the Chief Thuggee when I dig him out.

Very nice sanding job indeed. So you created the ears out of the existing plastic of his head wrap? Good job man and the rest of the head is shaped perfect. As many times as I have watched TOD I don't remember seeing this guy. What scene is he from and do you have a reference photo?

He's my steampunk take on Nemesis (the Marvel character). His design and history will be revealed in the dio. ;)
