my vote goes to Crusade...not for the riding into the sunset cliche, but the fact that im still pissed about them turning Marcus into a goofball in that film

Yeah i always thought that, he went from concerned mentor to fool in one short movie???? WHY!!!!!, WHY even bring him????? I still enjoyed Crusade because it has so much great action but it started doing all this lame humor and from there we got Skull so i guess it was a natural progression.

something to the effect of Sean Connery as Indy's father meant Marcus was no longer needed as the guiding father-figure...but why that meant he had to become absent-minded comic relief, I dont know

Hey wow, somebody bumped an old thread. But, I've never seen it, so...

Indy4 takes the cheese cake for me, definitely. I'm not thinking so much of the wedding (the concept of which I still don't know how I feel about) but rather the dialogue when the heroes are sitting on the ruins of Akator, combined with the shamelessly recycled Grail theme. Yikes!

I think though, like all the Indy movies, Crystal Skull has a great last shot, with Harrison snatching the hat away. "Not so fast."

I think Temple's ending is cheesy as well, and I think Spielberg lingers on the kids too long and William's choice of music is a bit too bombastic, but the movie just feels like it earns the relentlessly happy ending after all the hell the characters have been through. It's kind of the same way I feel about A Christmas Carol. Scrooge's redemption is over-the-top, but as a story/movie it still works like gangbusters, especially when the preceding material was so dark (or at least it should be if the adaptation is worth a damn).

Kotcs's ending was cheesy, but I feel it was appropriate for a 50s throwback.

The thing that is cheesy is that, except for Raiders, moments after Indy has witnessed some incredible marvel, supernatural power or miracle at work, avoids his own destruction and achieves personal illumination, he basically just turns to someone and is like "OK. Well anyone else want to grab a bite? I know a nice little place."

It's actually pretty funny. Just on to the next adventure.

I feel sorry for Spielberg Kepp and Co...Lucas forcing them into the inter-dimentional crapola. Ultimately the payday was too seductive.

Skull wasn't even good enough for Cheese...it was more like processed cheese food...spray can stuff.

That being said, I thought it started out very well...very promising.

You know, I found the LC ending to be rather cheesy.

Having Henry Jones Sr., Marcus and Sallah ride off next to Indy really dampens the impact of Indy riding off into the sunset.

And with Marcus almost falling off his horse.

KotCS had the cheesiest ending, watching that wedding with the 'How much of life is lost in waiting?' and 'Thanks Ox!' it was gag worthy!
Though it was nice seeing Mutt try to take the hat like the fiery upstart his is!

Apart from Raiders they all had cheesy endings. Star Wars had a cheesy ending, too, what with all the clapping, cheering and hero-worship. Yet, the cheesy endings can't detract from all the good parts that precede them.

in my opinion Temple of Doom was a pretty cheesy movie, altogether and the end is a bit cheesy with the whole pulling her back with his whip thing.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was cheesy in a way but i have seen cheesier movies.

I would have voted for Crystal Skull. I didn't like the wedding scene. I like playboy Indy.

And I love the ending for Temple. It's probably my favorite ending.

from greatest to grated

Raiders of the Lost Ark - greatest ending

Last Crusade - riding into the sunset - good ending

Temple of Doom - a sprinkle of parmesan

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Kraft Macaroni and Cheese "it's the cheesiest!"
