"The Parsifal Mosiac," not a "Bourne" adventure as a novel, deals with a U.S. spy who falls in love with another spy who is revealed to be a double agent just before her death. When he retires from the business, though, the spy learns that she may still be alive and sets out to learn the truth.

The Parsifal Mosaic Not the Fourth Bourne?

In an interview with producer Frank Marshall last December, Marshall said that they were eyeing Robert Ludlum's "The Parsifal Mosaic" as the story for the fourth "Bourne" movie. Now, however, Variety says the fourth film and "Parsifal Mosaic" will be two separate films.

Universal is negotiating for screen rights to "Mosaic," an espionage thriller that shapes up as the first major project for Captivate Entertainment, the company that controls screen rights to Ludlum novels.

Universal is working on a fourth "Bourne" film for Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass based on an original idea, and Universal and Strike Entertainment are preparing an adaptation of Ludlum's "The Sigma Protocol."

"The Parsifal Mosaic" revolves around a U.S. intelligence agent who thinks he witnesses the of his lover, who was identified as a KGB double agent.

He retires, but sees her alive at a train station and attempts to find her and unravel a conspiracy. Soon, the agents become involved in an effort to track down Parsifal, a shadowy figure behind a blackmail scheme.

Universal is expected to put the film on a fast track.

Not to mention if it wasn't for Bourne, we wouldn't have got one of the best Bond entries ever, Casino Royale! Next to Dr. No, Goldfinger, and From Russia with Love, CR was leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the films. And that goes for all of Moore's, Dalton's, and Brosnan's installments!

Bourne has as much personality as a plastic cup. Atleast you can tell what's going on in the Bond films!

Moore may not suit today's world where everything has to be dark/gritty or whatever you want to call it but the box-office was huge!

A: We?re working on it. This time it would be from an original script rather than a book by Robert Ludlum. But the director, Paul Greengrass, is busy and I am too, so we?ll see what happens.

Frank Marshall has let us know via Twitter that there should be a first draft due in by this summer, and that the target date for release of the film is now summer 2011.

The production is said to be looking for actors in their mid-20s to early-30s, which puts Labeouf right in the sweet spot. LaBeouf might have the inside track for the gig, given that he worked with producer Gary Marshall on 2008's 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.' The search is over. Universal Pictures has formally offered Jeremy Renner the lead role in the Tony Gilroy-directed The Bourne Legacy. Renner, who has been nominated for Oscars the past two years for his work in The Hurt Locker and The Town, is expected to sign on quickly to play a new character in the spinoff film that begins production in September. Like the Jason Bourne character played by Matt Damon in the first three The Bourne Identity thrillers, Renner will play an operative from a covert government program that is even more dangerous than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Bourne.

Rachel Weisz is in serious talks to star in the female lead role in "The Bourne Legacy" for Universal Pictures says Deadline. .....
Weisz's role is uncertain, though best bet it will be something akin to the role of either Chris Cooper or Brian Cox in the first two films.
