Does anyone have Indiana Jones and the Sargasso Pirates issue #1? If they do can they tell me what happens in the comic? And does anyone have Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny issues#1,#2? :)

I think the best way for comics is ebay, because there you have the chance to get them for a good price.

you can also check out this: http://www.theindyexperience.com/dh.shtml and try to contact dark horse or a specialised dark horde retailer. Also a way: comicshops on the internet...

I got all of them (I own a complete collection of the IJ Dark horse comics) from ebay besides one (shrine of the sea devil) that I bought from an internet-comicshop.

I too own all the dark horse Indy comics. Finding them in the late 90's (before eBay) took luck and perseverence. Dark Horse should compile them in a few black and white trade paperbacks, maybe even shrink them down to manga pocket book size. Why they don't republish all their back issues this way for beach/airplane/subway reading is beyond me.

I found all the DarkHorse comics on Ebay just a couple of months back. I got them all in 1 package, so that was good. Just keep checking once a week, they should pop up sooner or later. good luck, they are so worth it!

Indiana Jones And The Sargasso Pirates Love

Can we get some love for this ridiculously underrated comic adventure? Great art, great story, and great homage to old-school daily newspaper adventure comics.

Easily the best Indy comic series I've ever read, although I never read the earlier Dark Horse stuff like Iron Phoenix or Lost City of Atlantis.

Am I wrong?

I liked "Sargasso Pirates". It's been awhile since I've read it but will do so again.
Not my favourite Dark Horse series but it's good. I really like the idea and there's
a similar movie from the '60s but the title eludes me right now...

I'm glad somebody responded.

If you reread it, try to visualize it as a daily newspaper comic strip. The narrations and expository dialogue are written so that you can jump in at any time and still be able to follow what's going on. Every 2-3 panels are their own self-contained segment of adventure, yet it all fits together as one big story.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I just thought it was great. Hopefully it will get more love now that Omnibus 2 is out.

...for crying out loud, the comic even opens with an iceberg! (Continuing the "paramount logo" dissolves from the films.)

I hadn't read Sargassso Pirates until I got the Omnibus but I loved it. Definitely one of my favorite Indy comics. I hadn't noticed the paramount iceberg opening, thats really cool. One of the things I like the most about this comic is the diverse characters. All of them are really interesting and work perfectly in the story.

Sargasso Pirates was definitely my favorite IJ comic series at the time. (That said, I got into the comics a couple years after Dark Horse pulled the plug on Indy, so I only was able to read a few complete stories.) But the action was well-done and original, and the female lead was smoldering hot. :hat:

I just read it last night. Pretty good, though I'm at a loss about what those guys did for fresh water :)

And why the hell didn't Indy write that ax head map down? This one has to take the cake for teasing Indy with all this treasure just to sink it at the end :)

Still, lots of good visuals and some nice leading ladys. New Jersey Jones isn't going to be one of my top sidekick picks though.

Was Lawton featured in an earlier comic? I have not read Omnibus 1 yet (started it today).
