It sure is like gold..and almost like wine, seems to be even better because so much time has passed. Purely amazing....still anxiously waiting.

Post Copyright Issues

Well, 2 nights ago, I uploaded the entire special in 4 parts of 15 minutes each and then quickly received these notices from YouTube:

---
Your video "NHK Special - The Pioneers of the Visual Revolution - Part 1", may have content that is owned or licensed by UMG. As a result, the video’s audio has been muted.

Your video "NHK Special - The Pioneers of the Visual Revolution - Part 3", may have content that is owned or licensed by NBC Universal, but it’s still available on YouTube! In some cases, it may be blocked...

---
So I deleted all 4 of them all straight away. What I'm going to do is just upload the Indiana Jones-related parts to YouTube and, hopefully, that will get around these problems.

For anyone who wants the whole thing, I'll make it available via Rapidshare or something similar.

Thanks Stoo, awesome job! Thanks for taking them down right away so they aren't tagged and you get a letter in the mail or something. . Anxiously awaiting your uploads.

Thumbs up Uploaded to YouTube

Hey, gang, I'm back home for a couple of days and managed to successfully upload the Indy-related segments to YouTube. The image isn't Blu-ray quality but it's still much better than the other video source that ROLLERBALL discovered.

Two parts with a total of 24 minutes (approx.):

NHK Special: The Pioneers of the Visual Revolution - Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub1eL...FQHzf8idVWyY4g

NHK Special: The Pioneers of the Visual Revolution - Part 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18HJZ...FQHzf8idVWyY4g

HUGE thanks & hats off to Rollerball for finding this treasure in the 1st place!

Enjoy!

P.S. The full version will be available for sharing sometime in the near future...after I get back from my next trip.

Thanks for these. Will the part that contains the Temple of Doom deleted scene be uploaded to YouTube?

That would be fantastic. I haven't forgotten about the project. I just get too "in over my head" with projects and everything gets backed up. I just purchased about 10-15 EPK's from Ebay, in addition to the ton of other stuff that I haven't dealt with yet. Just ask for you guys to give me some leeway and then we'll all be happy in the end!

Awesome, loved it. This is as good, or better than some of the stuff on the bluray release, the behind the scenes stuff, and the deleted scenes from Indy make this a true gem.

Just a thought, any chance on removing the Japanese audio on the version you have? This way we could hear what the film makers are saying without the Japanese audio dubbing. Probably not possible, but just a thought, if your copy had them on separate tracks or something.

Thanks again to both ROLLERBALL and STOO, what a treat!

It is a fine & uninterrupted example of Spielberg on his set. This is rare for Indiana Jones material and I'm glad that you can appreciate its unique quality, Gonzo.

Micsteam, have you found some other source for this footage? If so, please tell me!

Flip, the deleted "Doom" scenes are in Part 2.

Unfortunately, no, Russ. The Japanese audio is inextricable.

What a fabulous video! Tank-ee, tank-ee sir!

I had a little weird moment when I saw the Vienna catacomb scene and realized it was a set! Quite obvious I suppose, but it's a real tribute to the filmmakers that I never thought about it before as I get so caught up in the scene when watching the film. I know the rats are mechanical when the fire is set too but never think about that when watching either!

Unfortunately I can NEVER watch the ants in KOTCS without my brain screaming "CGI"!! Grrr!

Post Another Copyright Issue

Nick, funny that you mention the catacomb scene because the clip from the film, within this documentary, was flagged by YouTube with:

Copyright Notice
Visual content administered by: paramount_vfp

---
The issue with the catacomb scequence might be because it's the longest clip of them all - over 60 seconds. (Are there any copyright lawyers here at The Raven who can give some insight?)

Anyways, folks, watch this thing & download it as soon as possible...just in case my YouTube account gets closed due to all the copyright infringements that I'm currently being slammed with!

Any Japanese speaking members with video editing skills who could translate/dub over Japanese parts in English?

That's not some nosy Italian behind the camera, it's Spielberg.
Quote:
This video was shot in Venice on the 7th August 1988, while the cast of "Indiana Jones and the last Crusade" was visiting the local police station. You can see Sean Connery, George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Alison Doody, John Rhys-Davis and Spielberg himself.

Haha, Spielberg finding out/obsessing over the macro lens is gold.
