Lightbulb Hello! Just got an account four days ago or so, and am looking for friends. =)

Hello! I'm extremely new, and would like to make some friends. Please view my profile for more info on what I like. But my main enterest, just so you know, is John Williams, the composer of the Indy trilogy/KOTCS. Thanks for reading, but really, I need some friends...

Hi, Corey. It's pretty special that you like classical music at 10 years old...so you get a tip o' the hat for that.

Just so you know, you share the SAME birthday as, "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK"! The 12th of June!

Welcome to The Raven, where the whip-cracking never stops!

Welcome to the Raven, and good start...happy to see you're interested in the music. Do you have any plans to learn an instrument?

In light of a recent thread, what makes you say trilogy...and Skull?

Not that its a bad thing.

Thumbs up A ”thanks to you!”

Ah, yes, like I said, I look forward to making friends.

I love teaching myself how to play certain songs from the trilogy! My favorite song overall from the series, it has just got to be Slave Children's Crusade, the beautiful song from the Rock Crusher fight with the Chief Guard. I still don't see why so many people look down on that scene... I, for one, actually think it's a very creative scene from TOD. :lightbulb:

Welcome, CJ. Yes, quite nice that you're interested in John Williams and classical music at your age. Hope you enjoy your time at the Raven. It's a fun place.

Even more amazing, as the TOS requires you to be 13...

Can't younger people join with parental consent, though?

Anyway, I'm very impressed by Corey's writing. Nice punctuation, etc. If only some of the older folks on this board wrote as well! He puts them to shame so another hats-off to Colonel Corey.

A 1-year-old can join if the upkeep approves it. And a 100-year-old can not if they don't.

Welcome! I think it's neat you like classical. So do I, but it's not my favorite genre. Rock 'n' Roll, baby.

Happy Posting!

Thank you very much, Stoo.
I appreciate the nice things people are saying to me here.

I love playing my accordion, piano, violin, and clarinet, but... I can't be a one man band...

And, you wanna know what? Me and my family, well... We're making a movie called The Adventures of Lenny Crush and Billy Skittles.

It's gonna be awesome. It's about these two superheros, and I'll be making the music! I already made a ton of different songs, and I'm going to use a program that we downloaded that let's me record stuff, and then put all of our recordings together. That's how I'll make it sound like I'm playing it, all at the same time!

I'm affraid we can't be friends as long as you continue with the accordion.

You know what the definition of a Gentleman is?

Someone who knows how to play the accordion and doesn't.

Here's hoping for a brighter day...

1-year-olds can type? Now, that's impressive!

Disagree. My girlfriend's father plays the accordian. He can't speak English very well (he is Italian) and we don't have a much in common so we didn't speak to each other very much at first. Eventually, when we found out that we both play musical instruments, the ice was broken and now we get along fine. Thanks to that crazy accordian!

Mama's got a squeezebox, she wears on her chest,
and when Daddy comes home, he never gets no rest,
'Cause she's playin' all night!
And the music's all right!
Mama's got a squeezebox, Daddy never sleeps at night!

I have a friend, a young mother, who just a while back asked me to sort out her laptop after it had been sabotaged by a hacker who was eight months old at the time.

Did the 8-month-old baby drool into the keyboard and fry it?

Apparently few random taps on a keyboard can do lots of damage sometimes.

Hey, Finn? I have a question. On the thirteenth (two days ago), I was banned for trying to report someone for cursing. I was only banned until the fourteenth (one day ago), but why was I banned? Isn't it violation if one curses?

There is a thread under Feedback called Moderations and Other Concerns. It's where questions like this are usually asked and answered. That or use the PM feature.

Was it a curse word that Indiana Jones, Marion , or Mutt used?

I'm assuming it's the same word used by Indy in the original version of The Genesis Deluge, and not the one "on a stick".

The case in question likely follows an image of Indy in his coffin.

The rest, as The Drifter advises, should be elsewhere.

The curse word you reported was this. If you look at the timestamp attached to it, it was posted four years ago. Now, if it's happily sat there for that long for all to see, then it should be pretty obvious that frankly, nobody gives a damn. Another giveaway should have been the fact that the next poster in said thread was the site admin who probably couldn't help noticing it either. And if he let it be, then everyone else lets it be.

We know you're new, but reporting that was like calling the police after you saw someone jaywalking, and when they get to the scene (if they get there), you tell 'em it happened two months ago. They won't pat your head for that.

Oh, we don't need reminders like this either. Everybody who frequents the place are supposed to know what the rules are. And in case they don't, it's the job of the staff to set them right on that count. Not yours. Going 'round and trying to be a forum cop when you carry a badge of no kind isn't going to get you any friends.

Though that was not the only thing you need schooling with. Another no-no that caught the upkeep's eye was the (now-removed) second post in this thread you opened. This is the Internet and sometimes things happen fast, but it's still live people behind most of its operations, so sometimes they don't. So NO BUMPING, whether it takes an hour or a year for someone to respond.

Then. Your posting habits in general. Awful lot of what we call "zero-content posting" in there. I mean short messages that mostly consist of short quips such as "That's Cool" or "Weird" or "I agree" (no, the smilies don't make 'em any longer) that don't really add anything to the discussion. Your personal opinion doesn't matter unless you're more elaborate and tell us why it is you think this way. This is a message board, not a chatroom. In fact, I noticed Rocket Surgeon trying to give you good advice in the "favorite scene" thread. Listen to Rocko, he knows this country, how it hums. He's learnt it, sometimes the hard way.

We know you're young, but that doesn't really cut you any extra quarter. We expect a semblance of maturity from all our members, no matter the actual age. Fail to display that, and I'm afraid we'll have to suspend you again, this time for good.

Now, before you make another post, I suggest you go around the boards a while, and observe what other people do, or more importantly, what they do not do. And when you think you've got the grasp of that, then start posting again. There is no need to imitate anyone, we're all cut from different cloth, but despite that, there is a certain flow to the ongoings of this place. Disrupt that, and the staff is bound to take notice. In fact, if you hadn't made clear who you are and where you're coming from, we probably would have booted you already. So maybe there is a bit of quarter after all we're willing to cut you. A bit.

So... let's see whether you're fit to frequent this place or not after all, or whether some growing up is still required.
