Re: Tom Morello. Amazing, innovative style.

Re: Randy Rhoads. Metalinvader, do actually have those early, Japanese Quiet Riot albums? Poor Randy. What a sad loss.

2) Alex Lifeson (Rush)
3) Steve Howe (Yes)
4) David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)
5) Brendan Bayliss (Umphrey's McGee)

This is my definitive Top 5. In terms of enjoyment, originality, and overall inspiration to my own playing, I'd say this list is spot on. If you don't recognize the names, I highly suggest some research, cuz you're missing out! (y)

I've heard "most" of the two albums he did with Quiet Riot.A sad loss indeed.Damn shame that we never got to hear what the man was even remotely capable of playing.Hard to believe that he only has played on FOUR studio albums.

Nice to see Mick Ronson and Paul Weller on your list,Stoo. As for Paul Welle,"This is the modern world" was a staple of my teenage punk years. :p

Come on! Really!? Now, I'm not saying these guys are the best but they're my favorites.

1. Eric Clapton-there's just something about him and his tone. Awesome stuff.
2. George Harrison-the guy who got me to pick up the guitar in the first place.
3. Neil Young-so strange, so entertaining, just awesome live.
4. Jimmy Page-cliche, but not THE cliche (*cough* Hendrix *cough*).
5. Bob Dylan-say what you want, the guy invented his own style and I adore it.

These are always tough lists to make and they change often, but right now I'd stand by those. Otherwise...:gun:
